Sen. Lieberman: Adam Lanza Had ‘Hypnotic’ Involvement With Violent Video Games

Sen. Joe Lieberman I-Conn. this morning addressed the tragic shooting in Connecticut, pointing out that violent video games lead some people to become killers.

“Very often these young men have an almost hypnotic involvement in some form of violence in our entertainment culture – particularly violent video games,” Lieberman said, about people involved in mass shootings. “And then they obtain guns and become not just troubled young men but mass murderers.”

Liberman added that he heard “rumors” that Adam Lanza fell into this category.

Liberman reminded his colleagues that not everyone who played violent video games were killers, but noted that studies showed that young people involved in violent entertainment were “more aggressive.”

Thank God, not all of them become murderers,” Lieberman stated. “But some of them do and we have to ask why.”

Well then....in the wake of Joe’s condemnation of excessive violence, I propose that we arrest Quentin Tarantino and tie-off his scrotsac until his gonads fall off. It is only fitting because of the gratuitious and needless violence he has endangered us with his movies.

Fantastic! Just what we need -- yet another person who never met the shooter, knew nothing about him a week ago, with no training whatsoever in psychology, psychiatry, etc mouthing off about why he went crazy.

New theory I saw on the internet today - Mom was recently fired and so went home and killed herself- son found her and in a rage went to the school for revenge

(you know its true because it was on THE INTERNET)

My kids are obsessed with skateboarding video games.

Guess that will turn them into pot-smoking slackers.

Just tie it all together into the “Ban Everything Act of 2013”.

Everyone will hate it, and 6 months from now it will die a quiet death in Congress.

I have heard this many times, from many places.

Those shooting games aren’t harmful to an overwhelming majority of the population.

What they are finding is that a combination of psychotropic drugs and playing those games can cause a disconnect in the brain of some individuals.

Apparently, the kid in CT was on those drugs, and also played those games.

Who will ever know for sure what made that kid snap?

Hey Joe (aka: “dipshit”), would you do us a favor and just STFU!

This guy is supposed to be oh, so reasonable and rational. Pahlease! Joe, if you had a brain in your head, you wouldn't have stood with your corrupt party. Please just go away!

What a stupid comment, but I wouldn't expect anything else from the democrat Lieberman.

Lanza should've been in an inpatient mental institution, which the liberals dismantled years ago, and "mainstreamed" them by putting all the crazies on the streets.

Liberman added that he heard “rumors” that Adam Lanza fell into this category.

Well, let's just throw the Constitution into the Senate's toilet because Liberman heard a rumor.

Any white male approaching the age of 50 who wears a Kangol hat should be thrown out of a helicopter.

I think I’ve seen him in a gay looking hat...is that what you’re talking about? I’m guessing the reason he puts so much violence in his movies is that he can’t get it up anymore (maybe never could).

My grand daughters play little girl games.....one constantly has a garden making game, and the other two play games about ponies and stuff like Donkey Kong, etc.

My parents would have never allowed me to play games like that as a kid but then we used cap guns to shoot real people in real life. When I became an adult I could watch or play whatever I wanted.

My grandmother has an old photo of me at 6 years old or so sitting on the bar stool at the soda in our hometown bellied up to the bar with a glass of coke and a pretzel wearing my cowboy hat with my 6 guns strapped at my waist.

So far I haven’t killed anyone but I do listen to heavy metal so there’s always a chance.

It’s the same type of hat Samuel L. Jackson wears. White people don’t wear them. He just comes off as creepy.
