I smell a fish. Why would people give up their guns with 'crazy Adams' running around killing people?

Is this government propaganda?

Here’s a thought- Let’s make it illegal to carry a gun onto school property, and let’s make it illegal to murder people, and let’s have really really strict gun control laws like they have in Chicago, and let’s make sure law abiding citizens are not allowed to own guns like they are in Chicago for the most part- and let’s make the laws so hard to own guns that people don’t even bother trying to get guns anymore like in LA and areas around California- that will surely put a stop all these gun killings- woops- no it won’t- they ONLY thing it does is make law abiding citizens a target of CRIMINALS whop WILL squire guns no matter what- just like they do in states where it’s impossible for honest folks to get guns to protect themselves- For those crying for gun control- I would encourage you folks to walk down some back alleys in places like LA, Chicago, NY to get a first hand look at just how well unassuming law abiding citizens really works- Flash around lots of money as you’re walking those back alleys too- after all, gun laws will make you perfectly safe and you won’t ever have to worry about criminals obtaining guns, right? Oh yeah- and people are still being murdered BY GUNS in those countries that outlawed guns- the only difference now is that those people being murdered have absolutely NO way to defend themselves!!!

For those claiming places thta outlaw guns don’t have gun crimes- bull:

http://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavlich/2012/12/11/gun-crime-soars-in-england-where-guns-are-banned-n1464528

“The Government’s latest crime figures were condemned as “truly terrible” by the Tories today as it emerged that gun crime in England and Wales soared by 35% last year.

Criminals used handguns in 46% more offences, Home Office statistics revealed.

Firearms were used in 9,974 recorded crimes in the 12 months to last April, up from 7,362.

It was the fourth consecutive year to see a rise and there were more than 2,200 more gun crimes last year than the previous peak in 1993.”

They probably gave up weapons that were ‘hot’, or that were worth very much less than the buyback.

And, the people who turned them in are NOT the people who would commit violent crimes with them.

So they just got a bunch of guns that would never have been used in a crime anyway and disarmed the poor victims.

Maybe it’s just me, but those look like shotguns and hunting rifles. Not an AR or AK that I can see.

No sidearms, either.

I consider this an opportunity to cull and update one’s personal arsenal. That old broken single shot 20 gauge, the Hi-point 9mm handgun or carbine, etc. Even some of the other junkers that don’t work, can’t get parts for and the like.

It’s kinda like the Obama program to buy up used cars to spur new car sales...yeah! Like that!

"They probably gave up weapons that were ‘hot’, or that were worth very much less than the buyback."

That's my first thought. I don't remember Camden, New Jersey being a very likely place to find a lot of deer hunters. How many of those rifles were reported stolen from suburban and rural homes in the surrounding counties?

I hope when they said "no questions asked" they didn't mean "no fingerprints or DNA samples taken".

Isn’t Camden one of those ‘endangered’ cities, laying off Police etc?

My question is: “Just at a casual glance, if the weapons pictured in #3 are the latest haul, at 250 a pop, where did they come up with 1 mill, give or take, cash for those weapons, ON a moments notice”?

AND if these were all just civic minded citizens, they would have foregone the cash and just turned them in.

Like WC used to opine “Definitely an Ethopian in the fuel supply here”.

Who’s brain child was this, and what happens to the by back guns?

I suspect they will be sold, for a tidy profit.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this is an easy way to get rid of murder weapons. If I were in charge of the Camden PD, I’d photograph every “donor” and weapon and fire every one of them for a ballistics test. Just in case.

I happen to have a Hi-point 9mm carbine...dirt cheap as I remember bought in a fit of boredom. I even sprung for a stock refit kit that makes it look just like a Beretta CX-4 carbine, but it still aint worth what these fools are paying. I’d put that cash against a Colt LE6920 or a good Bushmaster, to tell you the truth.

A few days after the tragic Sandy Hook school murders, a young Marine in fatigues stationed himself at the front entrance of the Nashville elementary school his two children attend. Another parent heard him admit to a reporter that he was unarmed. The other parent commented that, even though the young Marine standing guard was not armed, it made him “feel better” to know he was there.

It’s often been observed that “perception is more important than reality”. The observation is often correct. It is never MORE CORRECT than for those we’ve come to call “liberals”. I prefer “statist” but “liberal” has morphed from its classic meaning to the other end of the spectrum so I’ll stay with it.

Since these folks operate almost entirely on EMOTION and FEELING, REALITY seldom allows FACTS to intrude upon the delusional worldview they have constructed and the comfort that provides them. It is that illogical, irrational and delusional mindset that prompts many of them to continue to quest after a Utopian society. The thought that such a society can and will never be achieved in a fallen world populated with failed sinners never penetrates whatever remains of their cognitive consciousness. It’s a DANGEROUS WORLD and, as the liberals continue to “define deviancy down”, it becomes more dangerous daily.

There is another, far more sinister, level of the “liberal” call for gun control.

It was Mencken who offered that “The urge to save humanity is most often a false front for the URGE TO RULE.” He clearly had been a student of the liberal politicians of his day. Were he alive today and able to observe the likes of Chuck Schumer, Diane Feinstein, Obama and the rest, he’d almost certainly have used far stronger language to frame his sage observation.

To conclude, dozens of studies reveal the FACTS concerning gun control. Those FACTS are that where firearms are widely and READILY available to law-abiding citizens, CRIME GOES DOWN! The liberals who willfully ignore the FACTUAL EVIDENCE and continue to call for gun control (i.e. the DISARMING of DECENT CITIZENS, thereby denying them the ability to exercise their God-given right to self-defense) are those about whom Mencken wrote: Their goal is NOT about preserving life. It is about the hell-bent pursuit of the impossible to achieve Utopian world where all are equal but some (that’d be THEM) are MORE equal than others (that’d be US).

There are many PRO-RTKABA videos on You Tube that your often busy lives don’t allow you to find on your own. Search there for “Gun Control”, watch them – and, more importantly – SHARE THEM with the folks in your orbit.

We’re in a fight. And losing will ultimately cost us much more than our right to our guns.

Up to $ 250.00 per gun, where did Camden get all this buy-back money?

I would bet home burglaries rose dramatically during this period.

I wonder what percentage of registered guns where turned in by their proper owners?

And not ONE WORD about boys not having MEN in their lives; At home, or at school, or in daycare. NO MEN. NO DISCIPLINE OF THE SORT ONLY MEN CAN BRING. As another FReeper said, “JUST WAIT ‘TIL YOUR FATHER GETS HOME” carries a LOT of weight and boys need that if they’re going to be taught to have self-respect, honor, dignity, self-discipline, etc.. Fear of God and Fear of authority. Adam was obviously fearless. Discipline needs to start at a YOUNG age or it’s counterproductive. Bring discipline BACK to the schools.

Well, if something did happen at least one person there would have a clue what to do.

Of course, even a raving lunatic would have the sense to just come back later.

My BS meter broke when I saw this photo. Over 1,000 weapons turned in, in a city of 75,000? Something's not right here. Most 'weapon buy back' programs don't yield hardly any guns. The recent buy back done in Baltimore yielded 416 weapons out of a population of over 615,000 people.

It appears the gov't op to EXAGGERATE AMERICANS' APPROVAL OF GUN CONFISCATION is in full swing here. Sickening BS.

I suspect the success of any gun buyback program will depend less on the social conscience of the seller and more on the dismal state of the economy.

Need quick cash? Sell an old gun that’s been lying around under the bed for ten years.

Better than a payday loan.

I didn't see a bayonet lug on the M1 Carbine, so I'm guessing it's a post-war Iver Johnson. If that's the case, it's really more of a straight-pull bolt action than a semi-auto :-)
