WASHINGTON, D.C., December 20, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) - On Tuesday a federal appeals court in Washington, D.C. handed Belmont Abbey College and Wheaton College and all religious colleges a major victory in their challenges to the HHS mandate. Earlier this year, two lower courts had dismissed the Colleges cases as premature but Tuesday, an appellate court reinstated those cases. The Cardinal Newman Society and 15 Catholic colleges recommended in The Newman Guide had joined in an amicus brief supporting Belmont Abbey and Wheaton.
Belmont Abbey College was the first to sue the Obama administration over the HHS mandate last year. Following a setback in which a judge, an Obama appointee, dismissed the Colleges case because the Obama administration had not yet amended regulations to better reflect religious objections as it has promised to do, Belmont Abbey College went back to court Friday. Not only did the court reinstate the case, but it also ordered the Obama administration to report back every 60 daysstarting in mid-Februaryuntil the Administration makes good on its promise to issue a new rule that protects the Colleges religious freedom. The new rule must be issued by March 31, 2013.

besides this, all I hear are crickets.
Why hasn’t 0bama’s ILLEGAL preferential WAIVERS to 0bamacare been taken before the court??? Have the union Socialists so heavily infiltrated our courts, schools, media, government, etc.,?? Are we THAT far gone?
God bless Belmont Abbey. Perhaps some of the other Catholic universities will take their cue.
What a lower court judge decides means NOTHING nowadays. Obama is intent on fighting this all the way to the Supreme Court where he hopes to be able to pack enough Kagan and Ginsberg types to favor his government control policies.
John Roberts has already crossed over to the dark side and Anthony Kennedy is unpredictable.
I say it is too soon to celebrate.
That's because "fiscal conservatives" hold the second highest preference with the media (a distant second to the Left) and they have absolute contempt for any issues they deem "social."
Belmont Abbey has a 24 hour adoration chapel. Someone had told me about that, and I had some trips from Georgia to DC or New York where I would stop at the Adoration Chapel on the way.
That’s because this article is from the future.
‘cuz the waivers do not kick in until a “penalty tax” has to be paid...
2014...
I'm afraid it's much, much worse than many of us ostriches know about or are willing to admit. This country is so corrupt and desperately evil that many are living in denial to avoid the brink of insanity.
Since the Obama Admin have to use the courts to enforce this, it would be a problem (in my opinion, though I don't know).
With oil drilling, defying the Federal Government would be a problem because of the Lease issues and Safety issues.
.....and the rustle or papers scrutinized by well armed tax inspectors.
Yes.
FMCDH(BITS)
Communist Obama File.
The Obama Administration going to abide by the law? Preposterous...
Keep track of this so you can say “told you so” later on, but I am going to disagree with your blanket view of Roberts being “on the dark side”.
He ruled in a contorted way in a very narrow sense, in allowing ZeroCare to proceed on “taxing” grounds.
I believe that he is very capable of nullifying it on other grounds when those come before the USSC.
