In the immediate aftermath of Friday's terrible tragedy in Connecticut, there have been the predictable calls to enact new gun control legislation. The usual proponents of additional restrictions on guns have filled the airwaves with calls for immediate legislative action. Sen. Diane Feinstein has promised to introduce a new "assault weapons" ban on the first day of the new Congress next year. But, there are three very big reasons to believe that, for all the rhetoric, nothing will come of this new push for gun control.
1. Biden Gun Violence Task Force
This afternoon, President Obama convened a press conference announcing the formation of a blue-ribbon task force, chaired by VP Biden, to examine and recommend changes in our country's gun laws. Most pundits are greeting this news as a sign that Obama is serious

The option of seceding from the Federal Union should be explored more thoroughly. The previous attempt to do so was driven down by force of arms and superior technology, not because of any proven legal point.
What was considered to be the “Confederacy” probably used the wrong issue to bring up “states’ rights”, but the principle of states’ rights has never been tested in a court of law, and even if a declaration could be made for one interpretation or another, the words of the original Declaration of Independence still stand - that the rights to life, liberty, and “the pursuit of happiness” (code for ownership of property) were endowed by the Creator, a fact increasingly ignored by the Current Regime in the White Hut and much of the legislative branch.
The territory of that entity commonly known as “the United States of America” is populated by a growing majority that has no concept of the original intent or ideals of that great experiment in human governance, and increasingly, have chosen to vote it away.
Time for a breakaway republic to be founded, applying all the original principles. There are many of us that need refuge and respite from these fools and would-be tyrants.
If you can move it all in three trips or less you either don’t have enough or should try out for the Olympic weightlifting team.
It also took a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate to pass Obamacare.
Now the Rats want to lower the filibuster vote from 60 to 51.

Good luck. You will probably need “the rest”, as California is in such an epic financial mess along with the rest of the country of course, but I suspect California will be Ground Zero for an SHTF/WROL situation.
Damn right. Good Lord, if Boehner is anywhere near the decision making process they’ll be recalling all (old style wooden) clothespins so we can’t even make matchstick shooters.

Admittedly, I know where mine is, but I lost count a long time ago.
It’s one thing to have ammo for guns you no longer have but you’re not really serious if you don’t have ammo for guns you might be thinking of getting.
California:
The democ-rat veto-proof house and senate are salivating over gun control so hard that my best hope is that they will orgasm themselves to death ( lasting longer than 4 hours ).
One example: an annual $50.00 license to buy ammo.

Well, with Boehner they've got 2 1/2...
If you don't have bricks of .22LR as bookends for your reloading manuals, you don't have enough ammo.
If your buddy the fire chief hasn't put into the 911 system "firefighters should not approach from the south" for your address, you don't have enough ammo.
If in 2000 years, archeologists don't think your property was a lead and copper mine, you don't have enough ammo.
If you let your grandchildren into your house before they get their rifle badge, you don't have enough ammo.

You nailed it. This Federal govt is an utter and complete failure and no state, and not even conservative scholars, seem to understand they have the legal right to get out.
And there should be Reason #4 that Biden gun control will fail: by the 2nd Amendment, the Federal govt can’t regulate guns. The states can, however. But if your state tries to confiscate your guns, you can move to a safe state that allows freedom to own.
Good article, pretty much what I’ve been saying from the outset. The Dems are SALIVATING for the chance to take the House back - there is no way in hell that they will do something as suicidal as gun control now. Pelosi had 4 years as speaker, 2 of which with a supermajority in the Senate and control of the White House. Did she act on gun control? NO!!!
There is NO WAY that they’ll get serious about it...thankfully. Right now, they have to convince their based that they “tried” to do something, but the mean old Republicans blocked them. In fact, I’m CONVINCED that they are calling the White House every day BEGGING the president to not issue executive orders on gun control, because they know it will lead to votes to to overturn him - and they DO NOT want those votes.
Bottom line - no problem...as usual. The issue was defeated 12 years ago and is not coming back.
