The Disaster That Is "Plan B"
Hugh Hewitt ^

Posted on 12/19/2012 7:07:13 PM PST by Windy City Conservative

So why exactly did this get pushed forward, without consultation with the Senate leadership and without any chance for the GOP base to weigh in? At what point does GOP leadership figure out the "representative" part of their job?

This is a huge, indeed potentially catastrophic mistake, and the Speaker ought to withdraw the plan and send everyone home with a vow to make any tax cuts in the new year retroactive. We will go over the president's cliff, but the GOP will have some credibility left and may yet remember that the party of Reagan defends the military that defends us and, crucially, doesn't raise taxes.

If Hugh Hewitt hasn't sold out yet, this must be a bad deal. Usually, he'd have forgiven his interview guest list by now.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing. If this Rino thinks its bad.
It must be bad.
Lots of work to do between now and 2014.
Looks like we will need lots of Tea Party primary challengers.

It is a terrible deal. Boehner is folding like a cheap suit as only a RINO can.

God know where Hewitt is coming from. He’s just all over the board.

I think he’s a Christian and I think his heart is in the right place and he’s not a fool but so much foolish stuff comes out of his mouth it’s unbelievable to me.

I'm pretty sure that Obama will make no deal, he will force the draconian cuts of Sequestration, and he will blame the Republicans for the lack of a better solution.

Given all that, the Republicans should propose the deal that they would be most proud of -- the one their base wants them to support -- and just hold on and accept whatever comes.

Compromising your principles in the false hope that maybe Obama will be your new best friend is just a recipe for disaster.

NO-NO-NO, no wonder Republicans get their clocks cleaned on every fight with Obama when their own side comes up with STUPID ideas like raising out taxes just because Rush's are going up. My god, he is asking Republicans to join O and Pelosi to defeat this bill so our taxes go up???

I never thought I would see the day when conservatives would argue for higher taxes for 99.8% of voters to serve the principle of ????. Do you folks want Obama to have a bigger majority than he had in 2009? The Dems are laughing at you fools on every show tonight.

This is idiotic logic! It makes no sense at all/.

I agree for the most part. He favored Arnold the terminator, and look where that got us. He is friends with Antonio Villaraigosa and did not object to his election, only saying, “he’s just wrong.” Look what that got us—a city on the verge of bankruptcy. I am sure Hugh is a Christian, but “you shall know them by their works” is important. On his radio show he constantly denigrates his producer, Duane Patterson, who recently recovered from cancer treatment and has no clue about humor, injecting silly stories about Ohio sports teams at the wrong time. He needs a little counseling himself—and he is one of those vaunted counselor “lawyers.”

I called Heritage Foundation tonight and told them they will never get another dime of my money if they don’t change their position on this bill that keeps our taxes from going up/\

Screw them and screw Club for Growth for saying my taxes must go up because they are going up (automatically) for the 0.2%. Let them 0.2% fund them since they are using me as a hostage to protect them.

RE:”Your taxes will eventually go up too. Don’t fool yourself.”

Yes but I don't have to tolerate Republicans demanding that my taxes go up NOW for a idiotic loyalty test.

That's f,,ing Pelosi and Obama’s job, NOT Republicans job.

The idea of demanding that the House Rs become O and Pelosi's tax collector is the stupidest idea I have heard so far, It only helps THEM!

BTW : I appreciate you posting these, good place to get this out :)

I heard him say it was a good thing Brown was elected governor of his state because Mrs. Brown was really smart and would lead her husband to do the right thing.

I think he’s so driven to find the silver lining he’s blind to the reality of the situation.

You are so short sighted. Once the GOP crosses the rubicon of raising taxes
at any level of income, they will come for your tax bracket eventually, as well.
Surely u can see that these hacks are unwilling or incapable of hard spending cuts, yet quite eager to raise taxes.
Taxes on the rich will not lower the debt, but increase the budget for
even more spending.

I know he’s doing what he can do within the parameters of his medium. I understand that.

But somebody has to break the parameters. And obviously it’s not Hewwitt.

Look, I don't know what talk radio show you get this CRAP from but THEY ARE LYING TO YOU.

Those taxes go up AUTOMATICALLY because they were passed in 2003 with budget reconciliation. It was budget rules.

That means that Bohners B bill is keeping our taxes from going up, NOT RAISING THEM. Those claiming it is raising taxes are LYING to you.
Lawrence O Donnell on MSNBC just repeated that same big lie an hour ago laughing at the fools here who believe it.
Why the f..,. do you think Pelosi and Obama are opposing B?

Demanding that Republicans be O and Pelosi’s tax collector (Because Rush's taxes are going up) is the stupidest thing I have heard so far. Dems are laughing tonight!

Right on. But what do we have left? He is making a great effort, along with Medved, Prager and their kin. They all try but are not as abrasive as they could be for fear of loosing their audience, but then again that is in the realm of their program director, a man in Mississippi.

John Boehner and his colleagues in the House are responsible for serving only their Congressional districts, but the president is responsible for serving THE ENTIRE COUNTRY, particularly during impending disasters, such as we’re facing now.

It is not John Boehner who should have been forced to come up with a Plan B to try to avert a crisis; the president should have been offering Plans B through Z until he found one that was an acceptable way to avoid having to inflict the biggest tax increase in American history on a nation already struggling economically, which could well lead to the greatest depression in American history.

John Boehner’s Plan B should be an acceptable compromise to any person not emotionally incapacitated with such furious resentment against wealthy people that he would be willing to send an entire nation to rack and ruin simply because only a portion of 1% rather than a full 1% of the nation’s wealthiest people would have their taxes raised.

If Barack Obama is so far beyond the pale psychologically that he refuses to accept John Boehner’s Plan B, then there will be an economic tragedy in this country. But at least John Boehner tried to avert it. Could anyone have done better in the same circumstances?

Every conservative group and Mark Levin is against this bill.
You can google the groups that are against.
The Tax man may start with the rich, but he will come knocking at your
door and mine, as well, after they bleed the rich.
Open this pandora box and you don’t know what else will come out.
Revenue is not the problem, spending is the issue.

Of all of them, I find Prager the most inspiring. The more I listen to him the more I am impressed,.
