"The proposed expansion from Bodega Bay north to Point Arena in Mendocino County has been blocked repeatedly by congressional Republicans. The only foolproof way to accomplish it now in the face of a Republican majority in the House of Representatives is for President Obama to proclaim it a protected area by executive order"

A dictator has been elected

Years ago, I was fascinated by Germany in the 1930s. How did Hitler come to power? Once he got there, why didn't they re-think things and get him out of power? The political situation in Germany at that time was so radically different from the situation that I grew up with in America, that I couldn't really grasp how it all went so bad so quickly.

Now I see. Enthusiastic Americans, joyfully watching the propaganda, cherrily elect and re-elect a dictator. These citizens HATE anyone who disagree with them. They HATE the Constitution. They HATE freedom and commerce. They think they are the good guys, and they are flabbergasted that morons like us are allowed to exist. No doubt they will "take care of us" as soon as they get the chance. You can see the preparatory actions right now. The Clampdown is coming.

Never thought I'd see the day.

There must be proven supplies of oil and / or natural gas there. Otherwise the regime would not care about “protecting” it.

extending some 30 miles out to sea.

30 miles? Our territorial waters only extend 12 miles out, don't they?

...permanently ban offshore oil drilling there

California didn't need the oil tax revenue anyway.
