... there are over 2,000 crimes recorded per 100,000 population in the UK, making it the most violent place in Europe.

This is BS. From the article:

Researchers admit that comparisons of crime data between countries must be viewed with caution because of differing criminal justice systems and how crimes are reported and measured.

From the Telegraph:

Violent inner-city crime, the figures, and a question of race

26 Jun 2010

-snip-

The data provide a breakdown of the ethnicity of the 18,091 men and boys who police took action against for a range of violent and sexual offences in London in 2009-10.

They show that among those proceeded against for street crimes, 54 per cent were black; for robbery, 59 per cent; and for gun crimes, 67 per cent. Street crimes include muggings, assault with intent to rob and snatching property. Just over 12 per cent of London’s 7.5 million population is black, including those of mixed black and white parentage, while 69 per cent is white, according to the Office for National Statistics.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/7856787/Violent-inner-city- crime-the-figures-and-a-question-of-race.html

The US has over triple the murder rate of the UK. Their black population is only 1.8%, so that should be a tip-off about these stats.

I don’t see any reference to Britain’s ongoing demographic transition into an Islamic country. I would expect that to bring up crime rates a lot, at least until judicial power is handed off to the Muslims, when they then can impose Sharia - which has a way of dealing with crime that is quite effective.

It’s 1968 all over again.

Back then, after the murder of Bobby Kennedy, I picked up a copy of PUNCH. One of the cartoons showed two Englishmen walking down the street. They see a newspaper telling of the murder of Bobby Kennedy. One Englishman says to the other....”MY GOD! What is going on over there!”

They are both oblivious to the shadow of English crime stalking them.

It’s shocking how our media (I’m a Brit) think they are soooo superior to America.......the sheer arrogance of them, foaming at the mouth at the prospect of ‘them crazy red necks’ losing their guns is sickening.....

It’s also important to note the big difference between the *resolution* of violent crimes in the UK vs. the US.

That is, in the UK, violent criminals are far more likely to get away with it, than in the US.

For example, if a violent criminal robs a liquor store in Britain, he will likely walk away with loot. In the US, he gets shot up, and dies on the floor. But in both instances, a “violent crime” is recorded, as if they were equal.

UK moving towards ban of sharp, pointy chef knives. A team from West Middlesex University Hospital said violent crime is on the increase - and kitchen knives are used in as many as half of all stabbings.

Let’s not forget eye gouges. Register all fingers.

99% of all rapists use penises as the weapon of penetration. Obviously, this is a convenient weapon, especially when prompted by alcohol, drugs, and randiness.

Then there’s head-butting, biting, and knees to the groin, all commonly used at football riots.

The most deadly weapon of all is a shoe lace or necktie, used for garroting. The Thugist cult was especially fond of the garrot.

**************************************************

Yes and they has neckscarves made just for that purpose... I did some reading on them after that Indiana Jones movie that focused on them...

The garrott is cheap , deadly and can never be outlawed as you can improvise one anywhere and at a moments notice. If used properly it has the added advantage of depriving your victim of the chance to call for help.

Imagine these around your neck instead of your wrists..

Any reputable J-School

"Reputable J-School" is an oxymoron.

That schools of journalism even exist is an indication of how low our education system has become little more than training for the trades. There is absolutely no reason for their existence.

The article states: “...Alcohol is blamed as a factor in half of the incidents...”

England and Wales have the world’s highest level of drinking and drunkenness, as I recall, which is difficult to combat in spite of several educations programs devoted to teaching people sane alcohol policies and practices. They are attempting to raise taxes on booze, close grog shops earlier, etc

If it was just about individual rights, no one would care very much, but public health costs caused by alcohol addiction, hospital admissions, etc. soak up a huge part of the budget. Those monies would be better spent taking care of injuries and diseases that are not self-inflicted.

Remind Brit commentators that Northern Ireland is a part of the United Kingdom. How did gun control measures work there? Also somebody remind Piers Morgan that the US Congress does not have any members who belong to a political party that specifically reference the AR-15 in one of there most famous slogans. The UK has five members of Parliament who do. I guess they forget this famous speech,

“Who here really believes we can win the war through the ballot box? But will anyone here object if, with a ballot paper in this hand and an Armalite(AR-15) in the other, we take power in Ireland?”

The UK political party is Sinn Fein, and they have 5 MP’s in Westminster and many, many more in the local Northern Ireland Assembly. Guys like Morgan act like this part of their recent history never happened.

From the perspective of the Parliament & local councils:

If it was just about individual rights, no one would care very much, but public health costs caused by alcohol addiction, hospital admissions, etc. soak up a huge part of the budget. Those monies would be better spent taking care of injuries and diseases that are not self-inflicted on new offices & furniture, higher government wages, vote buying schemes, and funding MPs' buddies' "research" grants.

The murder rate is higher. But one interesting thing is that if someone here justifiably shoots another person in self defense, it is first classified as a “homicide”. It is only after a ruling by the authority (usually a district attorney) that the homicide is ruled “justifiable”.

I believe the UN even classifies fatal shootings by LEOs as "homicides". Of course that is buried in the reports that are used in their anti-gun propaganda.

The “crime rate” in the US is often extrapolated from the murder rate

And if you break that number out on a municipal basis where it is mostly criminal-on-criminal murder, you would find that on the whole, the US is one of the safest places to live.

Not that different in the UK where crime is localized in 'certain' areas among 'certain' groups... i.e. those living off their welfare system.

One could market a metal collar to be worn under your shirt. Wouldn't it amaze a thug to try something like this and run into metal! Maybe I'll start to wear a metal collar, as sometimes I can be in situations, while ministering to people, where my neck seems particularly vulnerable. Of course, my one and only ultimate defense is always the protection of The LORD, which can never be penetrated.
