Speaker John Boehner, using his harshest tone of the fiscal cliff debate, said the White House has done nothing since he relented on letting low tax rates lapse on wealthy Americans.
For weeks the White House said if I moved on rates, that they would make substantial concessions on spending cuts and entitlement reform, Boehner said in an afternoon news conference. I did my part, theyve done nothing.
With just days before Christmas, and less than two weeks until tax increases and spending cuts kick in, Boehner also voiced hope for the stalled negotiations. He said he expects that negotiations with President Barack Obama will restart. And Boehenr cast doubt that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) would ignore his fallback bill, which would extend Bush-era tax rates on income below $1 million.

The ‘fiscal cliff’ is a return to fiscal sanity.
(Fill in the blank)
There is no incentive for The Won and Dingy Harry to do ANYTHING. They are carefully spinning the fabrication that this is all the Republicans’ fault.
And what the heck, they may very well get the low-information voters to believe that construct. After all, members of the cult of The Won already WANT to believe.
Come on, Boehner, are you really that naive?
He’s just now figuring out that the game is to let it run out, and the WH will blame Boehner for everything?
Bonehead hasn’t realized that he has become the face of the cliff.
While Zero and Reid have been hiding, Bonehead has been too out
front, looking desperate. Most Americans may not be following the details
but you can bet Bonehead and the GOP has become the face of failure
to the public.
Most of these conservatives who vote for Tax increases don’t realize
it is they, who are getting pushed over the cliff.
Well, neither has Bawlin' Boehner . . . . . . . . . unless caving to zero is an action.
Uh!! Yeah he is.
How many times has Obama jerked the football away from Boehner’s foot.
We need someone as Speaker with some balls and some smarts.
Boehner seems to have neither.
I bet 0bama is really pissed off our economy hasn’t crashed and burned in a real obvious way yet.. Like ‘bread lines in the street’ crash and burn. 0bama’s probably thinking, “G-damn America! That Sum bich just won’t die!”.. Must be hell being frustrated like that. /s
John; see, I doubt Obama cares what happens to this country, as long as he and Michelle remain immaculated and coronated RULERS of it. He’s likely to CAUSE a catastrophe regarding the fiscal cliff; then blame it on the “evil” Republicans. Later, he’ll cut taxes on certain groups, then take credit for it. You’ve got nothing to lose by DOING WHAT YOU WERE ELECTED TO DO.
But, Boner is ready to take the Republican Party over a cliff.
And Boehner has done nothing but capitulate his tired ass and the country down the drain.
Another reason to "Just say no to RINOs"
I have some compassion for Boehner.
I do not think that anything any conservative or pub can do to avert disaster.
The MSM is going to support the commie no matter what.
I would throw my hands up in the air, tell the rats that it is their problem, and let them take the total blame for the results.
No sense at all to even try to compromise with the narcissist “mesiah”.
bobo
With inept fools such as Mister Boehner "negotiating" on our behalf, the WH need only sit there and play checkers with Bill Ayers (or who ever).
Please recall, dear FRiends, that it was none other than Mister Boener who traded a half-trillion dollars in defense cuts to the Dems for a foggy, meaningless, easily worked-around "IOU" for pretend cuts in other areas.
Boehner is not a bad person (if intent means anything), but he's such an astonishingly bad negotiator that he is, de facto, Mister Obama's right-hand man, and he doesn't even know it.
Good on the GOPers in the House for standing strong (ish)
.
Very like a guy wanting to score with a girl/woman, it is a means to their desire and the loser is the girl/woman.
Same here.
We continue to have our leaders negotiate and it seems to always be ... we go first and make changes on our side of things and they renege, they had no true intention to meet the changes they say they will change. Nothing new here. Over and over, through the years it is the same. We go first and they change nothing. Newt was the last to get meaningful action our of Congress.
God help us we are acting like fools.
Boehner is truly as useless as a one-legged clothespin. I wonder why “our troops” keep him in command. They must know something we don’t.
