Natalie's letter, written to President Barack Obama and read by Anderson Cooper on air, voiced her clear and thoughtful belief that guns did not belong in the hands of most civilians:
My name is Natalie Barden and I wanted to tell the president that only police officers and the military should get guns. If people want to do it as a sport than they could go to a shooting range and the guns would not be able to leave there.

She has probably seen with her own eyes that the school can’t even stop the fisticuffs of bullies. What makes her think that such a ban will hinder people who are not honest?

Me, too. Natalie has some very poor information sources, little understanding of the God-given rights she is asking the government to take away, scant practice in critical thinking, and abysmal adult mentors. How can we tell her that, effectively? She is a danger to others, probably more so than Adam Lanza was if her wish comes true.
We already know the effect of gun bans. Defenseless people are murdered until defense arrives.

The first thing I thought when I started reading the letter. Didn’t have to read more than a couple sentences before I knew someone else wrote it or narrated it to her.
56 million is probably a conservative estimate, probably closer to 100 million.
Why didn’t these idiots call for Airplane control after 9-11 !

The second I read the portion about how only the militara and police should have guns I knew the letter was fake. I heard the EXACT SAME BS from some far left loon(I forgot which one I always block out the stupidity) so now they are using 10 yrs olds to push their agenda..every single time I think the left can’t stoop any lower they surprise even me

Hey brother, I'm with you on the 2nd Amendment and everything, but this little girl is ten years old and she just buried her little brother this week. Maybe we ought to cut her a little slack.
It's so very sad to see her have to go through this, and come to the simplistic child-like conclusion she did. Cut her slack, sure -- lots -- but not for the manipulators who are seizing on pity for her and her anguished note to influence others to false conclusions that do not address the fundamental causes. Thus she becomes an unwitting but dangerous tool for sly propagandists.
