I lost all mine in a boating Kayaking accident.
The problems that cause this killing goes far beyond, Guns, Video Games, or the Mother. It shows our inability as a society to place blame where it is due and instead look for excuses and "What Could have been done" instead of "What SHOULD have been done"
Anyone who receives an Obama snub should wear it like the Congressional Medal of Honor.
But they included the shooter in the VT memorial.
The idiots who think that guns should be taken away from people with mentally ill family members aren’t going to like where that goes.
The mental health “profession” has basically declared all people to be mentally ill with conservatives at the top of the list. Hell I know they would start with the fact that I’m “anti social” because I keep to myself and rarely go to town and they could build a whole case from there.
I will take what I her from the Obama Regime with a grain of salt.

Communist goal 32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
Finally Communist Goals 38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].
39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.
It's almost like there is a Rulebook for Radicals out there somewhere.
It's not about what she did. It's about what she didn't do....preventing her deranged son that was living with her from gaining access to her firearms.

Thank you! I wondered if I was the only one who saw this tragedy that way. We don't know how the son got the guns, not even through the random and at least partially invented reports of the sloppy mainstream media. If he seemed "different" due to Asperger syndrome but not psychotic when she was teaching him to shoot, she might reasonably have seen that as a physical skill that could help him to develop overall. If he stabbed/clubbed her before taking the gun safe key that she kept secure, then again it would be hard to blame her. Both hypothetical situations are entirely my invention, but the media has to my knowledge reported almost nothing about what happened at their home. Either could be true and would, I believe, place her in the victim category rather than as someone reckless who endangered so many children.

I would distinguish between those who’d have the government take guns from such family members—and those who think such family members should be more prudent than this poor woman seems to have been.
Absolutely correct. According to the National Institute for Mental Health:
An estimated 26.2 percent of Americans ages 18 and older — about one in four adults — suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year . . . the main burden of illness is concentrated in a much smaller proportion — about 6 percent, or 1 in 17 — who suffer from a serious mental illness.
If the far left fringe can ban those 26.2% and their families, or even the 6% and their extended families from owning firearms, they think they can disarm the country and finally gain the power they have wanted for generations.
The answer would be obvious to most. Do what you have to to keep your firearms from falling into the hands of incompetents living with you. If you need help understanding that see if there is anyone in your household that can help you

Carney threw that in with his pitch that we need to support Obammie the Commie’s economic plan in part to keep funds available to single mothers of children with mental disabilities.
That was an out-and-out exploitation of the Sandy Hook murders to further their socialist agenda.
