Op-Ed: EXPOSÉ: Is the Vatican the Palestinian Arab Spokesman?”
Arutz Sheva - Israel National News ^ | Friday, December 21, 2012 2:47 PM | Giulio Meotti

The Vatican is actively taking part in the Middle East conflict - on the judenrein side. They've been there before.

During the past several weeks, the Vatican has worked hard to achieve the dwarfing of Israel into the indefensible 1947 ceasefire lines.

Pope Benedict just met in Rome with the Palestinian Authority head, Mahmoud Abbas, hailing the recent United Nations’ resolution on Palestinian non-member statehood. “It is hoped that (the resolution) will encourage the commitment of the international community to finding a fair and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict”, a Vatican statement said.

Abbas also met with the Cardinal Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone accompanied by Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, secretary for Relations with States. The Vatican applauded the UN General Assembly’s vote as “the juridical basis” for the Palestinian State.

Symbolically, the Palestinian Arab leader gave the Pope a mosaic of the Sepulchre in Jerusalem, with a note: "Abu Mazen, president of the State of Palestine".

The day the United Nations voted to recognize the "Palestinian State", the Vatican commented that "it is a propitious occasion to recall the common position that the Holy See and the Palestinian Liberation Organisation expressed in the Basic Agreement of 15 February 2000, intended to support the recognition of a internationally guaranteed special statute for the City of Jerusalem".

In the memorandum signed by Vatican officials and the PLO, an organization of Holocaust deniers now officially dedicated to the mass deportation of Israel’s Jews, the Catholic Church wants Israel relinquishing sovereignty at the Western Wall and the Temple Mount.

Pope tells Abbas of hope for Mideast solution - December 16, 2012

"Abbas, who is on a tour of Europe to thank countries that supported the November 29 resolution by the U.N. General Assembly recognizing Palestine, held private talks with the pope for about 25 minutes in the Vatican's Apostolic Palace."

Pope praises UN upgrade for Palestinians

"The bid was met with widespread enthusiasm in the West Bank and Gaza, but dismay from Israeli and US leaders. The November 29 date of the motion came 65 years after the UN’s decision to divide British Mandate Palestine into two states, an Arab one and a Jewish one."

Vatican hails U.N. Palestine vote, wants guarantees for Jerusalem - 11/30/2012

"The Vatican hailed the United Nations' implicit recognition of a Palestinian state on Thursday and called for an internationally guaranteed special status for Jerusalem, something bound to irritate Israel."

The Vatican Agenda:

How Does The Vatican View The Legitimacy of Israel's Claims To Jerusalem?

By Joel Bainerman

"First, you have to realize that for centuries The Vatican has attempted to obtain control of Jerusalem, which started with the Crusades. For them to convince the world that the Messiah they put on the world's stage is going to be accepted as genuine, they need to perform this play in the Old City. The story of this production is that this "Messiah" will merge the three monotheistic religions, usher in peace and harmony in the world, and solve the Middle East conflict. The location for this "production" will be in none other than the Old City of Jerusalem."

snip

The end goal of The Vatican is to seize control of the Old City of Jerusalem out of the clutches of the state of Israel. To that end they have a secret agreement with Israel which obliges Israel to respect the "extraterritorial" claim to their physical presence in the city. In short, "we have accepted the Vatican's rights to have little Vatican sovereign embassies throughout our eternal capital of Jerusalem. That same Vatican has committed itself, in public and in a written agreement, to ensure that the Palestinians have sovereignty in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Great, anti-Christian Jews. Just what the world needs more of.

Psalm 83

2 For behold, Your enemies make a tumult;
And those who hate You have lifted up their head.

3 They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, And consulted together against Your sheltered ones.

4 They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.”

5 For they have consulted together with one consent;
They form a confederacy against You:

6 The tents of Edom [Chrsitianity] and the Ishmaelites [Islam]...

Obadaiah

8 “In that day,” declares the Lord, “will I not destroy the wise men of Edom, those of understanding in the mountains of Esau?

9 Your warriors, Teman, will be terrified, and everyone in Esau’s mountains will be cut down in the slaughter.

10 Because of the violence against your brother Jacob, you will be covered with shame; you will be destroyed forever.

11 On the day you stood aloof while strangers carried off his wealth and foreigners entered his gates and cast lots for Jerusalem, you were like one of them.

12 You should not gloat over your brother in the day of his misfortune...

Giulio Meotti

Is this plagiarized again or is it something he came up with out of his own fevered imagination?

The Vatican has a compelling concern that Israel does not share in any respect: the well-being and fates of millions of Christians resident in Muslim lands. Saying sympathetic things about the Palestinian cause is one of the few ways that the Vatican has of gaining leverage so as to aid those Christians against the many pressures and persecutions that they endure at the hands of Muslims.

The present Pope has a long history of support for the Jews. This left-wing, Catholic-baiting nonsense does NOT help the Jews or Israel.

This Pope is famous for hinting at what he thinks about Islam—not much. But he also has an obligation to the millions of Catholics and other Christians who live in Muslim countries, and are persecuted and killed at every opportunity.

Israel has far more to fear from self-hating, left-wing Jews than it does from Evangelicals or Catholics.

We deeply must regret that there is still some anti-Semitism in the Church, despite its teachings that this is a mortal sin that strikes at the very heart of the Church.

But saying that the Vatican has concerns for Christians trapped, under threat or attack or even slaughter (depending where and when) in Muslim terrorista or pagan lands, does not excuse the lack of the organized Church’s tangible aid to helping those persecuted Christians .. either by helping improve their local conditions (where possible, I know it is sometimes not) or else by offering to assist their relocation to safer countries.

Quite frankly, repeated statements of “we care about the lives of Christians trapped under Islamic regimes” .. without any visible, significant, and tangible action to genuinely assist them............ I hate to say it, but all the talk and so little visible walk or real help....... does wear quite thin..... very thin, after all these years.

Sorry to have to say that. I pray we will see the Church taking some real action to help people, within its resources of course, as soon as possible.

PS: The Church made a terrible, horrible mistake not asking Israel to stay in Bethleham! The Muslims there have run out over half the Christian community and the rest is living under daily threat.... what a stupid thing to have let happen!!!!

It was the Israeli government that was encouraging the Muslims to build their Mosque in Bethlehem, and decided to pull back and let the Muzzies run things. There was little or nothing that the Pope could do about it.

It was the American govt that was pressuring Isr to give that land to the Muslims...
at that time, and for far too long in my humble opinion, the Isr govt kept trying to go along with the various American administrations as much as it could, always trying to be a good little helper instead of having the intelligence or courage to (where it has harmed isr or isr’s security) say “respectfully, no...” like any other country does when necessary. This has left Isr much weakened ... as it has undermined the lives of many Christians in the region (think, also, Christians in Lebanon and Egypt)

I do AGREE that ... whether the Vatican could have stopped the harm to Bethleham and especially the Christians there.... is not clear. I think so, but I don’t know for sure...
