Amid talk of reinstating the assault weapons ban that expired eight years ago, police departments nationwide are thinking of ways to confiscate such weapons.

As WCBS 880’s Marla Diamond reported, among the departments considering taking action is the NYPD. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said if Congress were to reinstate the ban, police are wondering whether it will be their responsibility to confiscate them.

I'm wonderin’ how they'll deal with all the anonymous tips of assault weapons and gunfire in liberal's and minorities homes?

It won’t be long before the surviving cops won’t be so eager to try to confiscate someone’s rightfully owned property.

They didn’t confiscate anything during the first ban, already-owned guns were grandfathered.

Yeah. But now we have a dictator who is known to have killed hundreds to get his way on gun control.

The only gun control measure that would have an eventual impact on “gun deaths” is 100% confiscation. Just how much blood would that spill? It would certainly give the proponents an autocratic tyranny. What they are trying now is to soften up their enemies.

One way or another, Obama may be the last president.

will those 2,500, 10-ton homeland defense vehicles, be used in the confiscation? will the goons sit inside the vehicles, while parked in our front yards, & demand our weapons, through a loud speaker? what will it take to penetrate one of those vehicles?

I am sure every leftist had already fantasized about that scenario repeatedly.

“This is a very dangerous path to go on.”

And you think they would realize the enormity of what they just pondered - can they really be that stupid? Have they thought of the implications?

DO THEY THINK THEY’RE JUST GOING TO GO DOOR-TO-DOOR AND TAKE THEM??

"among the departments considering taking action is the NYPD. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said if Congress were to reinstate the ban, police are wondering whether it will be their responsibility to confiscate them."

Other than a few that might be in the hands of organized crime bosses and drug dealers, I can't imagine that there are very many "assault rifles" within the boundaries of New York City.

It's virtually impossible just to get a pistol permit there, unless you're a celebrity with national name recognition.

This would be fun to watch from the other side of the Hudson!

(I have visited that cesspool exactly once since 9/11, and I'm hoping not to go back any time soon.)

I am not sure what I would do.

Right now I don’t even have any supposed “assault rifles”, tho I do have some high capacity pistol mags.

Around 20 years ago, I bought 30 high capacity mags for the HK-91 thinking I would buy one before too long. These were used but look fine and the price was really good. Still haven’t made the purchase but I guess the mags would be good to sell.

Actually there are so many high capacity mags out there that the price might not go up all that much.

Well, the police do have a lot of time on their hands now that they aren’t enforcing immigration laws.

I wonder how many American are dying daily because Obama refuses to deport criminal illegal aliens.
