A Harris County gun shop owner received a letter Saturday threatening him, his family and his employees.
"Live by the gun. Die by the gun. You will not live to see Easter," reads the typed letter that was mailed Thursday in Houston and arrived Saturday at Jim Pruett's Guns & Ammo.
Jim Pruett was photographed and quoted in the Houston Chronicle last week saying that restricting sales of military-style arms wouldn't prevent tragedies like the Connecticut massacre. "All it's going to do is make it difficult for law-abiding citizens to get the best protection they can for their home against, especially in Texas, gangs motivated by the drug cartel," Pruett said in the Wednesday article.
He said Saturday they were taking the threat from the threat signed by a "Newtown-inspired marksman" seriously.
"Are we afraid? No, but we're cautious," he said.

Jim Pruett is a good guy. He used to be part of a radio team (Stevens and Pruett) in the Houston market years ago.
We’ve been in his gun shop a few times. He usually has a gun on his hip while in his store.
And yet if an abortion doc gets a letter like this, these libtards would want the person who wrote that letter locked up forever.

I just had to chuckle at the ‘Easter’ deadline. Easter? Well hell, why not make it the Fourth of July, the ‘14 mid-terms, the next Leap Year, or the next time Hale-Bopp returns? A four month deadline doesn’t exactly inspire fear.
Of course with my mouth, I’d be like ‘why don’t you come down to the store with armed intent TONITE so I can blow your head clean off and get his business taken care of, then my family and I can have a peaceful Christmas?’

The irony is of course the threat of killing. Kind of curious about the bully’s weapon of choice.
If it were discovered that the leftist making these anonymous threats had the Andromeda Strain, and the only way to save the world were to incinerate his body with napalm, tell the plane to drop on the local gay bar during happy hour and your chances are probably 50/50.
Now he and his workers have every right to defend themselves even more-so with these threats. Person making the threat is so cowardly could not see the guy in person, hey. I hope they find the people involved in case they are out for revenge. About the dumbest thing to do, is threaten a person who owns a gun shop and probably teaches gun safely courses and has plenty of officers going in and out of the premises.
I agree. One would be Shelia Jackson Lee. I don't watch the cable shows so I don't know who all is running their mouths to incite. Remember how the media did with Palin and the target ads. They accuse the other side of doing acts/saying words that will cause violence. They get away with it all due to their people are in the media. The media is their cover.

I hope it’s not just me, but I have a very unsettled feeling that all this hysteria over gun ownership in America is spreading at such a rapid pace that we are heading towards either a total government takeover (attempt) or an outright civil war.
Even the smallest of communties like mine (population <250)are severely divided over issues like fracking vs. non-fracking, property rights advocates vs. environmental kooks, zoning vs. no-zoning, etc.
Will emotions run so high for the commie leftists to start threatening us Patriots that proudly display American and DTOM flags?
Remember - these vehement attacks against the NRA are from the Democratic Party and their media stooges, since they have lost elections under it’s relentless logic and better arguments. Therefore they see a chance to bring it down and they themselves have pulled all the stops. This is a propaganda war that makes “Romney the cancer killer” look like child’s play.
Of course guards in schools make total sense. But remember the odds of these shootings are remote. (On the contrary Chicago ghetto killings are rampant - yet very little coverage.) Better chance of getting hit by lightning waiting to get shot in a school, but safe is better than sorry.
A child is about 11 times more likely to die if a home has a swimming pool than if it has a gun. Why do you need a swimming pool? It is stupid and wasteful. Just take a shower after exercising on the floor and you don’t need a pool. Fill them in! (Hear anyone making that argument!)
I just find the hubris astonishing that a liberal would threaten a gun store owner.
