Given the independents surge for Romney, that's a drastic downturn by the base. And you know who's to thank/blame for that...

Not sure who/what you mean. Who do you thank/blame?

I want to know
WHY the GOP ran their B tier candidates in this race with so much on the line.

I agree. Mitt must have realized he’d be holding the bag for a giant disaster and the media would have no problem blaming him and not the real culprit - a problem zero does not have.

Remember, McLame saying we didn’t have to be afraid o an obama presidency.

Ya know, I heard him say that when he shut down a gung-ho supporter in that 2008 town hall Q&A. Has he ever refuted saying that or what he actually meant? I don't think he has.

The next Dem, be it Julian Castro, Deval Patrick or Booker will be just as bad as Obama
Dems know now to never run a white man again. Guaranteed victory.

What a load of crap. He spent the last 20 years jockeying for the position and the opportunity, and through his minions, he spent millions trying to clear away the alternatives.

Looks like Tagg isn’t any more forthright than his dad—perhaps he, too, will go into politics.

Primarily the GOP-e, “Establishment”, however you want to term it, with their kid-gloves campaign tactics and condescension towards Conservatives that “they have nowhere else to go”. Well, a lot of them didn’t “go” anywhere that Tuesday ...

Mind you, I’m not a registered Republican and did decide to vote for Romney, but I’m not going to come down on anyone’s principled objection to any candidate. That some may never vote for anyone but a rock-ribbed Conservative, it’s going to happen — but when an estimated 3 million Party voters sit on the sidelines, I think it points to people getting tired of being told they have to setttle.

Some candidate like to run, some candidates like to run...and win.
Romney was the former.

My take exactly. I don’t buy the nonsense on this thread that ther’d be no difference between Romney vs Obama.

Romney/Ryans 5 point economic plan was a good one. You’d see an explosion of pent up economic activity if it was enacted.

Not to mention Obamacare being shot down.
Now all we have to show for this is a wasted decade...if were lucky.

As is usual for Mitt, and now we see from his sons, just another LIE!

Swell. Now you tell us.
Here's a newsflash, most Tea Party conservatives were less than thrilled with the nomination of the proud Romneycare supporter.
Now, you and your father just disappear, please.

The deeper truthful part to the claim by Romney’s son may be just how deeply Romney WAS pressured to be “the chosen” by the GOP elite.

That is the only thing that makes sense out of Tagg’s comment that:

“He had no desire to . . . run,” said Tagg, who worked with his mother, Ann, to persuade his father to seek the presidency. “If he could have found someone else to take his place . . . he would have been ecstatic to step aside.”;

when there were a number of Conservatives competing against him in the primaries, just none representing, none hand-picked by, the GOP elite; except possibly Mitt.

I don’t know what powers behind the throne makes certain people run for an office they’d just well not have but it really does give me the impression that anything resembling an actual democracy ended a long time ago and all we have left is the form rather than the substance.

I had the feeling a long time & I now will not waist any time or effort in this fraudulent voting process.
