The following organizations have lent monetary, grassroots or some other type of direct support to anti-gun organizations. In many instances, these organizations lent their name in support of specific campaigns to pass anti-gun legislation such as the March 1995 HCI "Campaign to Protect Sane Gun Laws." Many of these organizations were listed as "Campaign Partners," for having pledged to fight any efforts to repeal the Brady Act and the Clinton "assault weapons" ban. All have officially endorsed anti-gun positions.

There is more types at the location however it would be good to focus on these entitities this holiday money spending season.

The same "avoid" alert goes to anyone foolish enough to send out anti-second emails in the form of holiday greetings. (think jcpenny's corporate special stupidity)

Trying to boycott pro football/baseball teams is a waste of time, and will only anger sports fans who might otherwise support us. IMHO.

There are only two companies on the list posted that I interact with — Time-Warner and Levi-Strauss.

Time-Warner I am stuck with, but I can start buying another brand of jeans.

Missing from the list is:

The St Louis Cardinals Baseball Club.

The Cardinals donated money to fight against Concealed Carry for Missouri citizens as well as lobbied to get a provision to make their stadium a Gun Free Zone.

The St Louis Cardinals are big time anti-gun.

We don't have to picket their stadiums with signs and printed material.

Lost of ticket sales is one way.

Not buying and wearing their over priced caps, tee shirts, jackets and other gear with team logos is a big money maker for them.

Win the battles you can by next Friday and the war will take care of itself.

i did not say boycott, I just said avoid. Instead of spend dollars at business “A” you just take your money to business “B”.

it is business.

Companies, shareholders, and company officers who are chained to company performance, need to know that anti conservative/second amendment positions will cost dollars out of their bottom line.

I see your point, but, the ownership of the team could use our own activity against the team to stir up animosity among fans who are otherwise uninformed about gun issues.

Haven’t been able (read “wanted”) to buy Levi’s since they became a designer company.

When I was a fat kid, I wore Huskies, at about $3.75 a pair. They were heavy material, didn’t fade quickly and seemed to last forever.

Not so now.

That one is interesting, considering recent events.

Are we sure about Sara Lee and 7-11?

Wonder if they still have the “train robbery” and the shootout on main street as they did when I went there many years ago.

I noticed lots of “deputies” walking around with firearms on their hips. A quick look showed them to be black powder revolvers with the nipples filed off.

The shooters used single actions with black colored blanks.

Then there was the gunsmithing area where they made and fired black powder rifles.

The list should include the United Methodist Church-

http://archives.umc.org/interior.asp?ptid=1&mid=937

(4) develop advocacy groups within local congregations to advocate for the eventual reduction of the availability of guns in society with a particular emphasis upon handguns, handgun ammunition, assault weapons, automatic weapons, automatic weapon conversion kits, and guns that cannot be detected by traditionally used metal detection devices. These groups can be linked to community-based, state, and national organizations working on gun and violence issues;

(5) support federal legislation to regulate the importation, manufacturing, sale, and possession of guns and ammunition by the general public. Such legislation should include provisions for the registration and licensing of gun purchasers and owners, appropriate background investigation and waiting periods prior to gun purchase, and regulation of subsequent sale;

(6) call upon all governments of the world in which there is a United Methodist presence to establish national bans on ownership by the general public of handguns, assault weapons, automatic weapon conversion kits, and weapons that cannot be detected by traditionally used metal-detection devices;
