Casino/hotel magnate Sheldon Adelson says Republican congressmen should accept a tax increase to solve the fiscal cliff.

“I’m a citizen first and a partisan second,” Adelson, who provided more than $100 million to Republican candidates during the last election cycle, writes on Politico. That sum likely makes him the largest single donor ever. …

Follow the money, eh. GOP-e money equals GOP-e policy, and if the biggest donors say increase taxes, they obey.

That’s because the big donors won’t be impacted as much from income taxes as they are from capital gains and estate taxes.

Yes, you are right. Somewhere I may still have one of the original campaign posters for the federal income tax.

It asserted that the “average man will never pay a dime in the new federal income tax”

Uh, no thanks there Sheldon.

You can always send in more than you owe, but I doubt you ever do.

Leave me alone!

It is up to POTUS to propose a budget. It then goes to the House. It then goes to the Senate.

I don't think a lot of that has happened since the last time there was a budget.

A government that already overspends will never overcome its power and money addiction as long as they can reach into our pockets and collect even more loot.

“I’m a citizen first and a partisan second,”

You’re an idiot first and a fascist second. (or vice versa)

I disdain the progressive income tax! I would prefer a national sales tax with a amendment outlawing income taxes. The income tax gives the government first access to your labor, making all of us serfs. The federal government should not own property beyond what is necessary to administer constitutional requirements, i.e. military bases, federal court rooms. The federal government owns 80% of all land west of the Mississippi river.
The reason any modern president needs massive armed security is because he has far more power than our founders ever envisioned! Given the power that George Washington and Thomas Jefferson had as president, they were never a threat to the body politic. Modern presidents have accrued too themselves the power to strip land, personal wealth, and now the very lives of the citizenry with out constitutional authority to do so!
