Christmas, the “Chicago way.” How’s that gun control working out for you, Rahm? (Just part of the Obama Chicago legacy.)

Those strict gun laws are really curbing that violence as they planned! Great job Rahm.

Ron Paul rips NRA plan for officers in every school

Published December 24, 2012

| FoxNews.com

Retiring Republican Rep. Ron Paul pushed back Monday against the National Rifle Association’s call for installing armed officers in every school, warning that the move could create a TSA-style maze of checkpoints and surveillance cameras — with limited effect.

“School shootings, no matter how horrific, do not justify creating an Orwellian surveillance state in America,” Paul said in a written statement.

The congressman, among the most libertarian-leaning on the Hill, is the first Republican in Congress to forcefully oppose the NRA’s proposal. NRA head Wayne LaPierre on Friday urged federal funding to overhaul America’s school security, a plan that would include posting a guard in every school.

LaPierre argued that, in the wake of the Connecticut mass murders, it only makes sense to protect students the same way the country protects banks and elected leaders — with armed security.

“The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun,” he said.

But Paul — who said he agrees that “more guns equals less crime” and “private gun ownership prevents many shootings” — nevertheless chided the NRA for its plan, describing it as a government solution that could infringe on liberty.

“Do we really want to live in a world of police checkpoints, surveillance cameras, metal detectors, X-ray scanners and warrantless physical searches? We see this culture in our airports: witness the shabby spectacle of once proud, happy Americans shuffling through long lines while uniformed TSA agents bark orders. This is the world of government provided ‘security,’ a world far too many Americans now seem to accept or even endorse,” Paul said.

Soon all of these individuals will have health insurance so that you and I will not have to pay their hospital bill.

Gee, Bam’s Chi-town hometown has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation. Just goes to show how more people get victimized by shootings in gun control places than in those places that allow law-abiding citizens to carry. But the lib, wacko, MSM won’t report the truth instead they call us “nuts”, while they place their little “NO GUN LAW ZONE” signs around.

Ron Paul again fails to differentiate between self-defense and spying.

He'd apparently prefers to let the little children huddle in the corner while the mad dog gunman walks around shooting and torturing each one.

“Soon all of these individuals will have health insurance so that you and I will not have to pay their hospital bill.”

Taxpayers, like me, already pay for all their health care costs. I pay for all their living expenses. I support their children and their baby mamas. I also fund the bloated bureaucracies staffed by of lazy liberals who purport to “help them” and show “compassion”.

America has become a society in which an ever smaller group of honest, hardworking citizens are expected to work harder and keep less of what they earn in order to support an ever growing horde of violent parasites.

“Soon all of these individuals will have health insurance so that you and I will not have to pay their hospital bill.”

And Cook County is also taxing legal gun owners to pay for the gangbangers medical care. Cook County dropped the bullet tax for now, but It will come up again for a vote.

Chicago’s Cook County OKs gun tax to defray costs of violence
Fri, Nov 2 2012

By Mary Wisniewski

CHICAGO (Reuters) - The county that includes Chicago approved a tax on firearms on Friday to help pay healthcare costs from gun violence, making it what is believed to be the first major U.S. metropolitan area to enact such a levy as a form of gun control.

The Cook County Board of Commissioners voted 9-7 to impose a $25 tax on each firearm sold. The tax is expected to raise $600,000 in revenue in 2013.

With the vote, the nation’s third most populous county, with nearly 5.2 million residents, becomes the first large U.S. jurisdiction to approve such a measure, the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence said.

Yep I think Ron Paul fell for the (MSM) word skews. I understood the NRA as saying qualified hands not specifically offices/government. This means anyone with some training which is what any responsibility gun owner does.

I agree that if it were a call specifically for school cops then there is a door opening to bad things but an open door to 2nd amendment is not a bad thing.

“School shootings, no matter how horrific, do not justify creating an Orwellian surveillance state in America,” Paul said in a written statement.

What does he mean "creating an Orwellian surveillance state"? It is now and likely to get worse.

And just how does putting armed guards in schools create an Orwellian state?

The city needs to put up some 'gun free zone' signs to stop all these shootings.

“As a side note, we know how many homicides have occured this year to date, are there any numbers on how many others have only been shot and lived on to mug another day?”

” Closing the year with a bang evidently:

Another apparent homicide on the West Side early Sunday morning claimed the life of man identified by the Cook County medical examiner’s office as Chad Carrasco, 35.

Chicago Police Department News Affairs [...] said police responded to a call of shots fired at 5:09 a.m. and found the victim lying on the ground in the 3500 block of West Lake Street in the East Garfield Park neighborhood with a gunshot wound to the back of the head.

And this one:

The Saturday death of a 55-year-old Melrose Park man who was shot in July on the South Side has been ruled a homicide, authorities said.

Reginald Thomas was sitting in a car with a 57-year-old woman about 12:30 a.m. July 11 in the 7200 block of South Dobson Avenue in the Grand Crossing neighborhood when another car pulled up and someone inside fired shots at them – hitting both in the head, according to Chicago Police Department News Affairs...

That’s at least 497 as far as we can tell.
