My former boss, a VP with a Fortune 500 company, is on a committee set up by Governor Scott. The objective is to bring jobs into the state. The VP said that if a company can bring in as few as 50 jobs then Governor Scott will personally get on the phone and make a deal.
For the past few years whenever the “unemployment rate” dropped nationally, the press here was quick to credit His Excellency and his programs for that success. Conversely, whenever the state of florida’s rate dropped, they quickly noted it was due to people giving up looking for work.
In the US, there is a fifth and now a six column working against the Republic. The fifth column is the Dems, the sixth is the press.
Can you send them a message to knock off the "make a deal" part? Government's job is to enforce contracts, not monkey around in the business sector.
