Ex-NRA fave Gilly in switch (Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand)
NY Post ^ | december 25, 2012 | GERRY SHIELDS

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand vigorously championed Americans’ right to carry high-powered guns — before she turned against them.

Since the Newtown massacre, the senator has been at the forefront of the national campaign demanding stricter gun-control laws — including her own legislation to prevent gun trafficking.

It’s quite the conversion for a former upstate congresswoman who earned an “A” rating from the National Rifle Association.

When she represented a more conservative Albany-area district, she boasted of keeping two rifles under her bed. That was before her 2009 Senate appointment.

Dick Bachert ~ :” QUISLINGS! “

Indeed , a quisling !
Ever since she has been under the protective arm of Senior Senator , Chuckie Schumer , her allegience has been to liberal causes .
It has been the issue of re-election , and not being faithful to your base and constituants.
She has no moral committment to anything other than herself , and her political future .
She has drunk the kool-aid .

Most members of BOTH political parties have empty cores and will say and do whatever they feel makes them more popular with the party leadership.

The average American does not want to debate friends or family over politics, so they either agree with the crowd or just shut their mouths.

This is the pool from which we draw our elected leaders.

Exactly why I let my NRA membership lapse last 2 years, They support Dems who are just using them, then the Dems vote pro gun but put Marxists on the SCOTUS then when kids are shot they flip flop and back gun bans anyway.

Do I smell a “select comfort” moment?

When idiots succumb to the hysterical emotionalism of the moment, they ALWAYS live to try and undo the stupidity of their actions.

Next election, this clown will be pandering and belly crawling for votes of the people she back stabbed.

She just burned a very big bridge.

IOW, she "Kerryed"! She was FOR the Second Amendment before she was AGAINST it.

Just stop with the “high powered guns” thing, please. Anyone that uses that term has an agenda, unless they’re talking about safari hunting.

This probably will not win me any friends here but it needs to be said. The expressed desire to own, and the expressed 'need' for high-power automatic are essentially based in the paradigm that free men need to be able to combat and overcome a repressive, anti-freedom government. That the state possesses such over-whelming firepower that free men need to balance the books.

The problem is that Communists took over this country four years ago and are now firmly and completely in command,.........without ever having fired a shot.

The Right in this country can arm itself to the teeth,..........but those weapons will never be used. There will never be another armed American revolution. You know it and I know it. The other side doesn't fight with guns,.....they fight with rigged elections, deceit, deception, lies, and victims.

My suggestion is that we give on this point. It seems self-damaging not too. I don't ever like giving into the Left or going against the Constitution but really,.....no one needs an AR-15. You never use it. It may make you feel more secure, but unless you're willing to take the consequences that will surely come with opening up on military forces, it's pointless.

Naturally, it is possible, and conceivable that such a weapon could be useful in killing predators after the collapse of the country,....I won't deny it. Those who are stockpiling against this eventual collapse may find use for such a weapon but I see it being used for protection, not for violent revolution.

If you're thinking is I'm going to need such a weapon to kill as many government thugs as I can when they come for my guns,.......I don't think they will ever try to openly confiscate guns. They're way too smart for that. They'll just take you out through arrest and the courts on some other grounds.

Meanwhile, while we like it or not the Left makes us look like kooks and gun nuts who are the criminals and mental defectives when in truth it is the Left and their policies that have driven us to protect ourselves.

Your post makes an interesting point but you have a primary error in your logic: you persist in using the word “need” in reference to a Right. Your position might deserve some consideration but I keep running into the conflict between those terms.

If you give in on that point, no others will matter, and then living itself will be pointless.

“There will never be another armed American revolution. You know it and I know it.”
Actually, you are assuming that. You don’t know that anymore than you know what color socks the man down the street will put on tomorrow.

“Meanwhile, while we like it or not the Left makes us look like kooks and gun nuts who are the criminals and mental defectives when in truth it is the Left and their policies that have driven us to protect ourselves.”
If all the elections are rigged, the enemy uses deceit, etc, what use it to care about political perceptions? Assuming you are correct, it is useless to persist in bleating at the ballot box and giving a damn whether you elect liberal R or Commie D.

I do have a question- if you believe what you posted, then why are you even on this forum?

Sad end to a long FR career...

Never give one tenth of an inch on our gun rights under the Second Amendment. The left always says it’s “reasonable” to respond to a horrible violent crime by restricting the type of firearm they can tie to the crime, plus the left invents a shocking way to describe the item, Saturday night special, military style assault weapon, high capacity magazine, cop killer bullets...

The socialist left never gives up and will take away every means of self-defense/sporting arm, deterrence to tyranny until we are unarmed serfs. We must fight the first step now with no retreat. The very fact the left is so relentless on the issue shows they fear any and all resistance to the subjugation of us which is the left’s goal.

Sure, resisting the state’s military and police is a daunting task, but the fact we have some arms gives them pause. The few Jews of Warsaw kept the Waffen SS divisions at bay for weeks and weeks with a few rifles and pistols. Freedom and dignity is worth dying for.

My right of self defense comes from God.

It is non-negotiable.

If some silly gutless clown wants to handicap himself in a gunfight for his life, so his choice of tool evokes some nostalgia in those who will read his story of survival or demise, yeah go ahead and use your Pappy's double-barrel or snubbie .38.

I'm going to be using an AR-15 with a 60-round mag. And I'm going to use it on whomever I need to shoot, whether it's Federal LE run amok or some hapless teen idiot who chose poorly.

.no one needs an AR-15

That's beside the point. Who "needs" a $50,000.00 vehicle, a $1,000,000.00 home, a $100,000.00 pleasure craft, a $250,000.00 motorhome, etc., etc., etc.?
