Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand vigorously championed Americans’ right to carry high-powered guns — before she turned against them.
Since the Newtown massacre, the senator has been at the forefront of the national campaign demanding stricter gun-control laws — including her own legislation to prevent gun trafficking.
It’s quite the conversion for a former upstate congresswoman who earned an “A” rating from the National Rifle Association.
When she represented a more conservative Albany-area district, she boasted of keeping two rifles under her bed. That was before her 2009 Senate appointment.

Doc, you are right......what you said will not win me any friends here. You are also confusing a want or need with a right given to us by our creator.

Never give one tenth of an inch on our gun rights under the Second Amendment. The left always says it’s “reasonable” to respond to a horrible violent crime by restricting the type of firearm they can tie to the crime, plus the left invents a shocking way to describe the item, Saturday night special, military style assault weapon, high capacity magazine, cop killer bullets...
The socialist left never gives up and will take away every means of self-defense/sporting arm, deterrence to tyranny until we are unarmed serfs. We must fight the first step now with no retreat. The very fact the left is so relentless on the issue shows they fear any and all resistance to the subjugation of us which is the left’s goal.
Sure, resisting the state’s military and police is a daunting task, but the fact we have some arms gives them pause. The few Jews of Warsaw kept the Waffen SS divisions at bay for weeks and weeks with a few rifles and pistols. Freedom and dignity is worth dying for.
It is non-negotiable.
If some silly gutless clown wants to handicap himself in a gunfight for his life, so his choice of tool evokes some nostalgia in those who will read his story of survival or demise, yeah go ahead and use your Pappy's double-barrel or snubbie .38.
I'm going to be using an AR-15 with a 60-round mag. And I'm going to use it on whomever I need to shoot, whether it's Federal LE run amok or some hapless teen idiot who chose poorly.
That's beside the point. Who "needs" a $50,000.00 vehicle, a $1,000,000.00 home, a $100,000.00 pleasure craft, a $250,000.00 motorhome, etc., etc., etc.?
