I’m on the Eastern Shore. Looks like two more lines coming. Making coffee and ought to be up til midnight after watching the video on Fox 10.....
*THAT* is seriously ugly looking.
Pray for those in the path.
Video shows this to be a multiple-vortice wedge, the damage is probably going to be catastrophic.
Joplin on the Gulf?
For any interested streamers...
Oh yeah. Just talked to her.
All kidding aside, prayers up for all the residents and their loved ones.
Please, have a little sensitivity on Christmas Day. We are still scarred down this way from the APR 2011 tornado. Folks get jumpy down here - our fall tornado season supposedly ended 1 week ago.
I used to live in Mobile. Half mile wide....very bizarre. Usually tornadoes there are on small scale.
It looks like it’ll be here in about an hour but it’s moving pretty fast. I’m on Hillcrest between Airport and Old Shell. I haven’t seen what I would call really bad weather here. There’s been some rain and wind, but nothing like Thursday morning.
Serious wind shear pretty close to your neighborhood now.
My prayers are up for everyone in the path. It got really bad here this evening but we are all ok.
LLS
Pretty much over. Nothing scary here. Wind and rain; I didn’t even see any major lightning.
Heavy rain on the Eastern Shore finishing up. Prichard caught hell again (Karma or a hint from the Allmighty?)
I’ll catch the southern tails from Louisiana for the rest of the evening but I think the heaviest is past.
here in the Mobile area, we thank God for the fact that nobody was killed or seriously injured.
It’s a Christmas we’ll never forget, but one we can be thankful about.
While it’s hard to see your House and contents destroyed, Houses can be rebuilt, things replaced, but you can’t replace family.
Merry Christmas.
Mobile.....they’e saying there were five different touchdowns....
After the initial touchdown, it jumped through midtown and downtown before heading out of Mobile heading towards Prichard and counties north of here. Murphy HS (for any of you that know our area) has significant damage and windows are blown out at Mobile Infirmary. The area of town that was hit is our most historical area and there are many homes that were damaged or flattened....this is what I’m hearing on the radio this morning. Thank all for your thoughts and prayers for us down here.
Yes, we had one on the 20th....hope we now don’t get one on the 30th....
Crazy weather. I’m in white out blizzard conditions, expecting 10” or so of blowing, drifting snow. To top all that merriment, it’s also thundering - loudly.
I’m off Old Shell between Hillcrest and University...all we had here was winds and rain.....unbelievable that this happened five days after the one last week.....I’ve checked with family in Clarke, Monroe Counties but all came through fine.
