The problem is doing good does not scale up.
Do a favor for one stranger or a family of strangerts snd the world is a better place.
Try to do a favor for the whole country and everyone is worse off.
Try to “help” the whole world and the gates of hell open up.

I understand your point but I prefer to look at it this way; acts of kindness and charity no matter how small make the whole world a better place for no act of evil or good is performed in isolation.
to help your fellow man is to “help” the world. It is impossible for us to know how many people we can reach with one small act of kindness and goodwill
