The House of Representatives will reconvene on Sunday evening, just less than 30 hours before the United States reaches the fiscal cliff.

House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, notified lawmakers that the House would come to order at 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday in hopes of averting the end-of-year combination of tax hikes and spending cuts that constitute the fiscal cliff.

Conservatives, start looking for candidates....those who promise they won’t mention women’s body parts...to run against any RINO who backs Boehner in his up-coming surrender to the Democrats. Take names of the sell-outs and do not let them escape.

The important thing is that Boner gets to be one of the "in" crowd.

He thinks.

I’d like to hear just one of them address the actual ‘cliff’.

Trillion dollar deficits as far as the eye can see.

I don’t trust a single politician to do what is right. They will cave into Obama’s wishes, they will cave on guns, they will cave on fighting Obamacare, they will cave on illegal immigration and they will cave on everything else we hold dear. They make me sick.

I’ll ask again...

Anyone claiming to be a conservative still supporting the GOP?

Any NEW excuses we have not heard before for the GOP selling out America and caving to the Dems?

Isn’t it about time to say enough and stop actively working against your beliefs? Because if you think you are going to change their behavior you are not helping.

I think I see this clearly. Mitch McConnell will Raise taxes for everyone over $500,000.(killing a million jobs) He will also increase spending for more welfare to those that won’t work(”unemployment”). After Raising Taxes and spending more he will send the Bill over the Boo Hooner who will seek “Bipartisan vote “ of the liberal republicrats to defeat the conservatives in the house. This outrage should seal his fate as Speaker in the vote on Jan 3 (I think he might even resign)

Yes and this time, when half of the ‘conservatives’ start making excuses for why all hell will break loose unless we keep feeding the GOP our votes, we better damn well tell them all to get stuffed.

Because it’s obvious whose side they are on.

If they’re going to reconvene, then the House should pass a clean bill extending or making permanent all the current tax rates, send it to the Senate, and adjourn sine die. No unemployment extensions, nothing else. Reid has been biding his time on purpose. He could have amended a bill the House had already sent him.

This must be ‘’Plan C.’’

There is nothing the Republican majority in the House can possibly do to avert the fiscal cliff that would justify this P.T. Barnum/Geraldo Rivera-type of hyped-up exercise in building up expectations for a particular event. Will the news networks be featuring countdown clocks to 6:30 p.m. Sunday? Will John Boehner pop out of a cake or just walk to the House podium as usual?

Harry Reid and the Senate will not endorse anything the House proposes, especially not in the circus atmosphere now being created. Harry Reid does not need anything from the Republicans. The biggest bribe in the world would not detour Harry from his chosen path toward America’s destruction, since his long corrupt career has already brought him millions.

Maybe if John Boehner announces a complete cave-in on Sunday evening, enough honorable Republicans will be in the audience to boo him off the stage so the event won’t be an unmitigated disaster.

Yup. Both of them will lose their leadership posts. But their “bipartisan legacy” will allow them to be popular at ruling-class roostertail parties.

Well boehner already folded and still it wasn’t enough for obama. I would think obama prefers to go over the cliff and then start over but we will see. It’s his deal. He may see advantages either way. In fact he may want a one month agreement and then start up the fun again after SOTU

The House of Representatives will reconvene on Sunday evening, just less than 30 hours before the United States reaches the fiscal cliff.

Below is my post from Dec. 9.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2967022/posts?page=33#33

I expect we will see the BS meter pegged again in two weeks when the "solution" to the current "EOTW" is sprung on America. I would think the tax rates will be extended but what will be attached to that will be yet another horror story from the communist agenda "liberal and progressive" donks and hailed as "unprecedented and historic" by the mouthpiece media.

Right now they are just running out the clock to create the "We Must Act Now" scenario to pass something without anyone having a chance to see what it actually is.

Old, tired, monotonous, simple minded donk crap... and the insane communist agenda "liberal progressives" will cheer it on.

Little bammy hussein will make a speech on TV, interrupting everybody, and proclaim how he has once again cleverly and skillfully saved TWAWKI and the MPM will golf clap.

Total and complete communist vomit... .

Doesn’t look like it. Boner is calling them in at 6pm on Sunday and the bill needs to be signed by Obama by midnight on Tuesday, right?

And I wouldn’t expect that the House, Senate and Obama want to work late on New Year’s Eve. Especially if Obama is spending New Year’s Eve with Reggie Love, since Moochelle is still in Hawaii.

I don’t know all the intricacies, but this might be OK. Obama taking a vacation was a good thing. It showed he wasn’t serious. Bringing the House back shows that the Republicans are serious.
