INDIANAPOLIS - Should the IRS be giving billions of dollars in tax credits to illegal immigrants?

Many lawmakers say "no" after seeing an Eyewitness News investigation exposing massive fraud involving undocumented workers and child tax credits.

Now some illegal immigrants are speaking out to explain why the tax credits are so important, and why Congress should not eliminate them.

Salvador Presteguin is a plumber who works long hours.

Families like the Presteguins would be hit hard. Because Salvador doesn't have a Social Security number, he'd lose thousands of dollars in tax credits for his children – children who were born in the U.S. and who are U.S. citizens. My guess is he no problems using fraudulent documents, would be driving without license and insurance and my guess is he a non licenced plumber.Otherwise he thinks he is special and that some laws can be ignored, its for the kids.IF I remember right, I believe Indiana also has state income taxes one must file, aside from federal taxes.

The credit is not a “congrats on being able to reproduce”-prize.

The idea is that the claimed child will later be a PAYER —almost all of these kids are NOT in the USA, so how might they benefit the USA...?

A HUGE SCAM.

“...after seeing an Eyewitness News investigation exposing massive fraud involving undocumented workers and child tax credits.”

You mean to say that illegal immigrants have come here to rip off honest, hard-working tax payers with massive cheating and sky-high ripoffs of everyone who plays by the rules?

Well... you could knock me over with a feather...

Next thing you’ll be telling me is that Democrat politicians are encouraging the injustices in order to buy votes by handing out perks to this whole crowd.

Years ago I worked with a guy who was not satisfied with just listing his wife and children as dependents, he also listed family living in Mexico. Pissed me off so much I made that call to the IRS. It is iritating that if you are of a certain race there exists an amazing resource and clique to teach and show you how to game the system and rip of the American taxpayer!

Eliminate all credits before touching deductions.

The Crimmigrants got balls that’s for sure. Where else but in the United States can a person openly and flagrently commit a crime, rub everybody’s noses in it and then demand help to continue committing the crime?

Wait a minute, never mind.

I forgot about the government and the alphabet agencies. My bad.

There was even an article in the illegal alien loving Los Angeles Times before about illegals and new residents taking 20-30 child credits claiming all their child relatives live there and the IRS is stupid enough then to then give $5000-$30,000 refunds to them.

When not collecting massive welfare, all the illegals of the 90001 area are filing the illegal tax returns with a tax NUMBER, not a SS and they are ripping us off in numerous ways.

This is an example of the big problem I have with the current tax system. They have turned it into the co-welfare system. When these so-called US citizen children start working and paying income taxes, then they can apply for tax credits. No one, not even US citizens should be able to receive money back without having paid anything in.

If these undocumented, non legal people want money for nothing, they should go see the Dept of HHS, not the IRS and even then, these illegals should be turned away. The tax credits should only be for legal/citizen parents who should be getting a return of some of the tax money they have paid in.

These foreign freeloaders need to go to their home countries and ask their own government for money.

The Earned Income Tax Credit, first proposed by Nixon, signed into law by Ford and increased under every administration since, without exception.

Wouldn’t be a factor if Salvador “the wetback” was plumbing in his third world country. I’m sure there is a crying need for plumbers in the sh!thole third world country he crawled out of.

ding ding ding!

Correct you are

its just another arm of the Welfare Monster, which is choking the life out of the productive citizens while bequeathing wealth on illegals and the irresponsible.

We have been invaded and slowly the invaders are overwhelming us.

Too late. This resident of Idaho is assessed CA state income tax because I have to perform work in San Diego. No representation, just income taxation.

You remember right. Indiana does indeed have state income taxes that need to be filed. You also have to file and register your business with the state — and locally before you can open a business bank account (post 9/11).
