Police and family members are wondering why a 44-year-old man was attacked and set on fire outside a Miami gas station on Christmas night.
While Darrell Brackett was being treated for burns over 75 percent of his body at a Miami hospital on Thursday, police continued their search for answers.
Brackett and his girlfriend dropped their guests off after hosting a Christmas night cookout. On their way home, the van ran out of gas and Brackett walked to the gas station.

I guess there is no White Hispanic like George Zimmerman to blame.
Oh, dear. I hope he makes it. What a horrible thing to happen, especially on Christmas.
This is why I almost never leave my tiny town anymore. Most of my shopping is done in a town of less than 5000 people 10 miles away.
Sad that the world has come to this.
Could be drug related:
The Democrats think “gun control” is the solution to this kind of madness.
nope - perp is unknown and the OP mentions his race
A lot of gas stations now have CCTV..............wonder if this one did.
I’m confused. The article doesn’t say anything about another person around, other than the woman who saw Brackett on fire,,there was no car or anyone fleeing the scene? No statement from the service station attendant? Maybe there was a spark of some sort,,or a cigarette hit a puddle of gas? Other than reporter saying this man was attacked, and the fact the police are treating it as an attempted murder,,there is nothing in the article that contains those elements. The reporting in this article is just shoddy.

Yep. That’s the same guy in the newscast. Homey must have forgot to pay his supplier and was toast (well almost). It’s a bad thing to happen but you play with fire you get burned.
The victim is black...and BELIEVE ME, if the alleged perps were white, the extremist Miami media would be doing “round the clock” coverage on the story.
