Dick Blumenthal: Reflections on Newtown (gun grab alert)
The US Senate, Mordor-on-the-Potomac ^ | Dec 27th, 2012 | Dick Blumenthal

Posted on 12/28/2012 6:29:41 AM PST by DTogo

blah, blah, blah...

I will work to keep faith with the Newtown community and find a solution to this crisis that is rooted in common sense. I will work with the President, and my colleagues in the Senate, regardless of party, and with any organization that is willing to engage in a thoughtful, constructive discussion about the steps we need to take.

Here are some necessary steps:

•We must do something to effectively ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.

•We need to better prevent mentally ill people and criminals from having access to firearms.

•We need to close loopholes that enable 40 percent of all gun sales to be made without background checks.

blah, blah, blah...

Well DICK, I suppose we could start with upholding the constitution that you swore to defend. Much like many of us who took an oath when we joined the military. Remember the part about defending it from enemies foreign and domestic? It appears you are heading towards the domestic enemies list. I urge all FReepers to contact your appropriate (?) reps and sens and let them know we are having a hard time not somehow violating all the useless firearms laws already on the books.
When seconds count, the cops are “only” minutes away.

Helping keep mankind warm for 65 years.

Not a surprise. Skeletor always hated the 2nd Amendment and freedom of any kind.

Since he’s become a senator, I’ve been glad to not see him on TV every other night suing some productive business. But it also makes me worried what he is up to in DC.

The problem with Liberals is that they overuse idioms and colloquialisms so often as to render them meaningless. The common sense, as defined by the very definition of the term, dictates that we arm people in the schools to allow them to defend the defenseless.

When a rat senator says "we must do something" and talks about using "common sense", you know there is big trouble ahead.

Blumenthal?
Defend the Constitution?
This is a joke, right?
Good joke!

Blumenthal is Connecticut’s equivalent to Elliot Spitzer. ‘Nuff said.
