A madwoman last night pushed a stranger onto subway tracks in Queens, where he was killed by a train, police and witnesses said.
It was the second such nightmare in less than a month.
The unsuspecting victim was waiting at the elevated 40th Street station of the 7 line in Sunnyside at 8 p.m.
“This lady, she just pushed the guy on the tracks. Then she ran away. I was screaming and closing my eyes,” said witness Tenzing Tegeng, 21, one of five people on the platform.
“I knew he was gonna get hit by the train. That’s why I closed my eyes. I didn’t want to see it.

One thing we aren’t sure of yet, is if he was actually a stranger.
Some thing the video shows that she is following him, and singles him out.
Others think it was random.
This & two people set on fire in different parts of the country. What is going on?
Confiscate and ban trains.

None of the decision makers in NYC ever ride the subway or take public transportation..same in DC. So why would they care if crazy people litter our streets and foul our cities. The problem isn’t guns..the problem is we don’t deal with our mentally ill citizens in an effective way.
Just another reminder of why I practically never leave my tiny little town of 150 people.
Not need to ban the train, just limit the track to no more than 10ft.

Tegeng did not hear any arguing beforehand. Others also reported no interaction between the two.
Where were the so-called people chasing her in the surveillance video? I didn’t see any.
The article said some saw her sitting on a bench, then pacing up and down at times.
Perhaps an gang initiation.

That’s just not true. New Yorkers foil crimes every day - you just never hear about it. It’s not news. Also, watch NYers come to the aid of someone who takes a bad fall in the city streets; or watch strangers helping old ladies across icy streets in winter. I don’t know the full story of this particular case - and you don’t either.
Only sheep believe in coincidence.

Did you watch the video? Where were the people who were supposedly chasing her?
I live in NYC and ride the subway every day. Your assertion that “most New Yorkers won’t get involved with anything” is untrue. In public places, whether in a park or on a subway, individual New Yorkers always align this way: good guys versus bad guys. I’ve witnessed crimes and have helped victims — I was one of many at one scene who helped — and my own life was saved by a stranger who intervened when I was mugged.
The fact is that the subway platforms are crowded and, even when they are relatively uncrowded, it is difficult to see what is happening more than a few feet away from you because the platforms are narrow. It is possible that the few people who witnessed this woman push the guy onto the tracks were too stunned to react. As for all the others who supposedly chose not to stop the fleeing woman: unless they actually saw her push the guy onto the tracks, they would not know why she was running away. If I saw a twentysomething woman of any race running quickly out of a subway, I would not tackle her if I had no idea what was going on. For all I knew, she could be running away from a criminal!
Let’s focus the blame in this case where it belongs: on the woman who pushed the guy onto the tracks.
Ban turnstiles. Those are the gateway to subway crimes.
