Few things animate the ire of liberals more than the right to bear arms. Liberals loathe the Second Amendment and when horrific tragedies like the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut rear their ugly head, they are quick on the draw to call for more gun control. But just don’t ask liberals to practice what they preach. Senator Dianne Feinstein of California is readying legislation to re-introduce a ban on assault weapons. Yet, as Mark Levin pointed out, Feinstein owned a concealed firearm. She said, “If somebody tries to take me out I’m going to take them with me.” When NRA President Wayne LaPierre called for armed guards to be placed in schools late last week, an irate David Gregory derided the idea during his interrogation of LaPierre on Meet the Press. Yet Gregory’s children attend the same school in Washington, D.C. as President Obama’s daughters. And yes, Sidwell Friends, a Quaker school, employs armed guards. Of course, such sentiments are hardly new amongst liberalism’s leading lights. Back in 1981, the late Washington Post columnist Carl Rowan argued that anyone who wasn’t a law enforcement officer who committed a crime with a handgun should be sent to prison for ten years without parole. However, in 1988, Rowan would run afoul of the law when he shot and wounded an intruder at his D.C. home with an unregistered .22 caliber pistol. Well, Rowan didn’t acquire a badge in the intervening seven years.

What’s funny is, liberals in bloggosphere are calling for Armed soldiers to invade every home in the US and turn them over to confiscate all guns. They can’t see the irony in that

The "Liberal gun haters" know they'll die in the invasion.
They hate soldiers and they hate people who disagree with them being armed.

But Phil Elmore at World Net Daily gets it.
I've been saying this for years.

Equating guns with vice, with drugs, with pornography, was the first step
in creating a sociopolitical climate in which their lib-dominated newspapers could publish your home address.
It was the first goal
in a long-term plan to reconfigure popular culture to make you unwelcome.
It was the first battle
in a protracted war for the hearts and minds of our younger generations, already being brainwashed daily in government schools.
Your children won’t learn to read or do math, but they will learn that guns are bad and strict construction of the Constitution is mean.

This is not a metaphor.
This is not figurative language.
This is not hyperbole.
You are at war with liberals who want to murder you.
They believe this murder is justified.
They will do whatever they can to end you.
You can fight or you can die.

The Carl Rowan story gets even better. The reported “intruder” was a local teenager who had simply committed trespass by using Rowan's swimming pool in the middle of the night. Rowan attempted to claim the .22 revolver belonged to his son, an FBI agent at the time. Not unduly burdened by the gift of intelligence, the son tried to claim the .22 revolver was his issued service weapon. The liberal media dropped further interest in the story, and no one ever asked how the weapon found its way into Rowan's hands.

I lurk over at DU from time to time and it is interesting to read the gun threads over there, and there are plenty of them.

It's pretty much preaching to the choir over here at Free Republic but things get heated at DU where viewpoints range from repealing the 2nd Amendment completely to not touching a thing. Surprisingly (or not) there's plenty of Obama voters who do not support gun control whatsoever.

Why does no one seem to ask whether the children in Sandy Hook were murdered with an “assault rifle” or if the perpetrator used a “high capacity” magazine. From my understanding the murders were all done with handguns.

I also check in to the asylum once in awhile, and there are DUmmies who own guns. Just like liberal white guilt, they own guns but out of guilt of being a brain-dead liberal who own guns, they’re DU members. There’s hope for those but I wouldn’t count on it..

My next door neighbor has several weapons of various makes, models and calibers. He is also an avid Obama supporter.

This summer I told him about the UN plan to take our guns. He and his lovely wife laughed at me and said Obama would never do something like that.

When we gave them their Christmas gift( his Christmas display is off the hook) we spoke about putting armed guards in school. They were for it.

There’s way too much crime in Obama’s constituencies, not nearly enough law enforcement to dent it, so many of them have to protect themselves. Absolute anarchy there without guns.

Yup...went there to see last night.
Knew there were a few 2nd amendment supporters there, like the one with the Air Force logo by his name.
He's pretty patient with the rabid anti's,
However, I think that he's not far from a tombstoning (even with a fairly high post count) because all he gets for responses ->

So far as I can tell, there are only a few consistencies with Øzombie voters...
1.) They know (believe) whats better for you, than you do.

Some DUer defended Sidwell Friends (nonviolent Quaker pacifist) school’s having eleven armed guards, not counting Secret Service when the Obama girls are present, by saying the children of the powerful need such protection “from all you teabagger terrorists”.

Tyranny! Given enough time, the liberals will form an army to do those things, but I do not believe the US Army as it is now will turn on it’s own citizens, even if ordered to do so.

Liberals lie about WHAT they want, and WHY they want it.

Gun control is to CONTROL and DISARM THE CITIZENS, not “to protect the children”!

They refuse to reform Social Security because that would limit the amount of money flowing into the treasury, for their use to buy more votes.
They don’t give damn about how much money grandma receives.

The list is endless, but the point is the same:
Republicans need to call out the liberals for their true motivations and quit pretending their just trying to keep the peace at the family Christmas dinner.
