A female student gang-raped on a bus in India's capital Delhi has died at a Singapore hospital, doctors say.

Interesting suspect list. The first two (Ram Singh, Mukesh Singh) have Sikh names. Vinay Sharma has a name associated with the Brahmin caste. Pawan Gupta and Akshay Thakur : Brahmin last names as well.

Matters of jurisdiction involving Muslims in India related to marriage, inheritance and wakf properties are governed by the Muslim Personal Law

Which I doubt would apply to a rape case involving a Hindu woman (although I might be wrong).

Interesting, thank you. Initial reports said this group was a “gang,” but it sounds like a rather unlikely gang. They all seem to have been Hindus, of one sort or another. But if their last names do indeed indicate their social standing, I can’t imagine why they would have been riding the bus, let alone attacking other passengers.

This whole thing gets stranger and stranger. But regardless of whether the people in question are Hindu or Muslim, for everybody in India (except Christians), women are lower than dirt.

Islam is at war with the west - always has been, is now. Anyone who is not Muslim is, in practice no better than a westerner.

Unless we stop coddling these slimy vermin and fight them within our own borders as well as in Afghanistan and Iraq
(and considering both countries are still Muslim, we did a pitiful job there), events like this will be everyday occurrences in London, Paris, Rome, Berlin, Moscow, New York, Washington D.C., etc.

Being of Brahmin caste does not necessarily mean that you are wealthy. I would imagine that someone of a high social caste who was at the economic bottom would be very angry and bitter about his situation.

Six men have been arrested in connection with the incident: Ram Singh, the bus driver, and his brother, Mukesh Singh, were both arrested in Rajasthan; Vinay Sharma, an assistant gym instructor, was arrested in Delhi,[19] as was Pawan Gupta, a fruit seller; Raju, a minor,[20] who was detained by the police in Budaun, Uttar Pradesh; and Akshay Thakur, a man who had gone to Delhi seeking work, who was arrested in Aurangabad in Bihar.[21][19]

Ram Singh was the first to be arrested, and presented before the Metropolitan Magistrate on 18 December 2012.[22]

Mukesh Singh, who was in Tihar Jail, was assaulted by other inmates and reportedly forced to consume human excreta and urine. Following the incident, jail authorities separated him for his own protection.[23]
