Sad. I was praying for her to come through. God Bless her.
I was thinking much the same thing when I heard the news at 0600 today. It was a headline item on Channel News Asia.
On 20 December, the representatives of 111 countries voted at the UN for a moratorium on the death penalty.
I hope that those same representatives are now hanging their heads in shame, because if there was ever a crime for which death was the only just and proper punishment, it is this one.
Ever notice how certain news items suddenly “go over the top” and almost become ubiquitous? I recall how several years ago there seemed to be a constant news focus on shark attacks here in the US. Turned out that the number was not significantly different from other years but suddenly these got the news.
India and certain localities in India appear to having just this kind of news cycle with rape attacks which may or may not be increasing but have come to the top of the news interest. Without any intention of justification, we here in the US have no appreciation of the sheer population pressure in India and that probably has an effect on crimes like these. Add to this the other societal problems with religion, poverty, politics and the ever-present corruption, and you get a problem set that is ‘difficult’!
No matter what the reason, this poor woman has my prayers as do all people who suffer unjustifiable attacks.
It is, after all, the woman who tempts the men. The men are powerless to resist the temptation. They would have behaved as complete angels, were it not for the temptation.
Please explain to me why limbs like the misogynists Islamists? They are so much in the dark ages, and don’t ever want to change.
No problem, thanks for all the foreign press that publishes domestic US incidents that the American MSM are so desperately trying to bury.
Monkeys? No, chimpanzees. Our closest relatives are nasty creatures living in hobbesian tribes. Of course, we had other relatives, which we exterminated. We are wicked creatures with a thin layer of civilization. And we are one good caldera explosion or mass epidemic away from that being peeled away.
Perhaps we will all find out in coming weeks....
“But regardless of whether the people in question are Hindu or Muslim, for everybody in India (except Christians), women are lower than dirt.”
Treating women “lower than dirt” is in the culture - seen in majority of men in India regardless of their religion.
“Initial reports said this group was a gang, but it sounds like a rather unlikely gang. They all seem to have been Hindus, of one sort or another. But if their last names do indeed indicate their social standing, I cant imagine why they would have been riding the bus, let alone attacking other passengers.”
It is highly likely that these culprits might not be the actual criminals.
“Interesting suspect list. The first two (Ram Singh, Mukesh Singh) have Sikh names. Vinay Sharma has a name associated with the Brahmin caste. Pawan Gupta and Akshay Thakur : Brahmin last names as well.”
Brahmins in India are kept from good jobs and good college education because of affirmative action( which in india is commonly called reservations based on caste ). Hence most likely they can neither be in highly influential jobs nor have ties to people in such professions that can save them from crimes of this magnitude. There is a bleak chance that this has anything to do with their caste, provided they are the actual criminals.
Thanks for the info.
Animals are animals. Some hide behind politics or religion or anti-religion to justify their barbaric acts.
They need to be put down like rabid animals.
No, I think you are correct, but the comment on Islam being a religion of hate is true.
