The Florida Highway Patrol trooper at the center of firestorm after she pulled over a speeding cop at gunpoint said fellow law enforcement officers have created a "life-threatening" situation that caused her to be in such fear for her safety she has become a "hermit."
Trooper Donna "Jane" Watts' 69-page lawsuit, filed in federal court Friday, seeks more than $1 million in damages. She is suing more than 100 police officers and agencies, and the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. The suit alleges 88 law enforcement officers from 25 jurisdictions illegally accessed her personal information more than 200 times, violating her privacy.
Watts made national news in October 2011 when she pulled over off-duty Miami Police Officer Fausto Lopez for speeding in his marked patrol car on Florida's Turnpike in Broward County.
She followed him for seven minutes and later wrote in a report that he was darting in and out of lanes at speeds exceeding 120 mph. She approached his cruiser with her gun drawn, yelling, and then handcuffed him.
Lopez, who regularly averaged more than 100 mph on his drive between Miami and his home in Coconut Creek, was fired in September.
But in the months after the incident, officers looked up information such as her home address, picture, Social Security number, date of birth, and detailed vehicle description in a database available to police officers, according to her lawsuit.
The suit alleges the police agencies including the Broward Sheriff's Office, Lauderhill and Hollywood Police did not properly train their officers, who used the information they received to intimidate Watts

America is becoming a hollywood fantasy...
“idioaracy “ is now a documentary
...and our police force are now “ Judge Dredd “
“I am the law “
Unfortunately, you have probably earned extra attention from the mobile tax collectors AKA police.
I know life is difficult these days, especially for those working for the “good of the people”.
But, whatever happened to”TO PROTECT AND TO SERVE”?
Seems like many are self serving, just like the drunks and thugs they are supposed to be protecting us from.
>>Unfortunately, you have probably earned extra attention from the mobile tax collectors AKA police.<<
Well that’s fine by me. I’ve never coward away from a fight when it is a just cause.
Not skeered.
Next time, ask a couple of local news stations to come along for a ride.
If nothing else, they can stake out a location in an unmarked van and record said officer.
They're like that everywhere, it's real bad in the Albusucky metro area here in New Mehico.
The same thing that happened to "Peace Officers" vs "Law Enforcement Officers"
RICO
And this is why I don’t give a crap about all those “good cops” out there, the ones who so completely outnumber the bad ones: the bad cops are almost never exposed by the “good cops,” who certainly are aware of what they’re doing.

That nails it. They are all the same when they pin that badge on. The same as the lowest crook on the force.
Trooper Donna “Jane” Watts may be that honest cop we keep hearing about.
They still do - it was NEVER to Protect and Serve YOU - it was ALWAYS to protect and serve The PEACE (aka The STATE).
Well, I’m hoping you’re eventually successful in “helping” this officer to improve his driving.
Make the officers pay, not the taxpayers.
When dealing with human beings, you will almost certainly have bad apples.
Cops are completely out of control. They can knock on your door anytime they want and say they got a report of a disturbance at your address. If you don’t let them in you’ll be arrested. And if you have a dog you’d better lock it up or it’ll be shot.
As for the constable, I wonder what would happen if someone saw him coming and ALMOST pulled out in front of him. SUVs don’t “swerve” very well.
Sadly, if this guy wrecks and kills someone the precinct will pay dearly. But no amount of money will bring back the dead.
“Ok, so I seem to detect a lil prick-ish-ness.”
No, no, no..big-time no. I’m 100% on your side.
Sorry if it came out that way. That’s why I suggested you use a Sony can to record and report on this butthead. I’m to the point now that I think we should start using the Left’s slimy tactics to screw them back.
No offense meant.
Sorry, I misunderstood you. Happy New Year Partner!
Ahh, but did “to protect and to serve” *ever* name the citizenry as the party to be protected and served?
You assumed you were to be served, and not the Interests of the State.
How shocking, that a government employee would turn on a government employee who blew the whistle on illegal behavior.
This is how we are losing the good peace officers; as they are discovered in the ranks, their statist ‘brothers’ look for ways to drum them out.
