Chelsea Clinton, Still NBC’s Pretend Journalist [List Your OWN Pretender Here!]

I know there are questions on my beat larger and more pressing than who’s worse as a TV journalist, Chelsea Clinton or Jenna Bush Hager, the presidentially-connected, pretend correspondents at NBC News.

But I continue to be fascinated by a network news division putting someone as outrageously unqualified as Clinton on a prime-time newsmagazine. I watched her again last week in a softer-than-soft piece on a weight loss program started by Pastor Rick Warren at his Saddleback Church, and I can say with absolute certainty that she has not improved one lick in the last year.

In fact, I think she is worse than when she started this job for which NBC News President Steve Capus said “it’s as if she had been preparing her whole life.”

David makes a great point, but the fact of the matter is that "journalism" is a joke EVERYWHERE....on network tv, cable tv, local tv, national newspapers, national magazines, and local newspapers.

I invite my fellow FREEPers to use this thread as a way to give YOUR opinion as to who is a "pretend journalist"...or, alternatively, tell us who is a GOOD journalist.

I think we ought to stay away from opinion givers or pundits...but hey, on a forum like this, who knows where we'll go?

Terry Moran, ABC "news". Last I saw, this liberal was hosting that decrepit show "Nightline" or whatever they're calling it now. I remember his snarky, baited questions to the Bush administration when he was pretending to do journalism as a White House correspondent. Pretend Journalist.

Now, a real journalist:

Jake Tapper, now with CNN...or soon to be with CNN. Jake DID ask the Bush team some tough questions, but I have also seen him take on the stink of BO. He is about as "fair and balanced" as a non-FOX media type gets.

And especially that doctor chick, Dr. Nancy Snyderman , who said (recently) that religion messes up Christmas. She is so over her head but bold as heck. That makes her dangerous IMHO

I haven't noticed Jake Tapper taking any interest in Benghazi, John Kerry's traitorous history of working against America, the Muslim Brotherhood receiving support from Team Obama, or Hillary's mysterious concussion during her much needed testimony.

If he was looking to upgrade his image or make a career step by leaving ABC, his choice of CNN, the home of fake baby milk factories, is curious at best. Maybe Candy hasn't given him the transcript yet.

Another important difference: Ms. Bush shows no intent to parlay her “Today Show” gig into something in the political arena. Chelsea Clinton, on the other hand, secured the job with NBC for the expressed purpose of preparing herself for a run at elected office.

Lest we forget, Ms. Clinton demonstrated no interest in a media career until Caroline Kennedy’s infamous meltdown that ended her Senate campaign before it even began. Ms. Kennedy couldn’t even answer softball questions from a fawning reporter, and ended her chances of getting Hillary’s old senate seat in New York.

The Clintons took note of Caroline’s debacle and probably did some mock interviews with Chelsea. I’m guessing she bombed, too, so the decision was made to improve her media skills and NBC was more than willing to provide the training (and a fat paycheck, to boot).

Watch for Chelsea to move to a “safe” Democratic district and run for Congress in New York in 2014. By that time, she will have punched her media ticket and be ready for a few terms in the house. That will keep her occupied until the Clintons decide which NY Senator can be forced out, opening the next door for their daughter.

I mean, I can’t stand the Clintons, the serial predator father or the Scheming, plotting left wing witch Hillary.

I guess Chelsea will follow them politically, but at this point, she does look “hot”.
