The Tea Party marches on in N.C. (virulent hatred of Hussein)
News Observer ^ | 12/28/12

**SNIP**

The main driving force in the movement has been a hatred of President Obama, a virulent hatred indeed. Now that the president has been resoundingly given another four years, the tea party’s leaders need new objects of scorn.

And there’s the rub. Movements built on antagonism toward one individual tend to be short-lived, and when that individual triumphs despite loud opponents, it’s frustrating for the losers.

But if the party’s over, the hangover remains. No place may have a bigger headache than North Carolina. The tea party’s push helped Republicans win control of the General Assembly, led to a contorted redistricting that locked in that control and left the state’s leadership in the thrall of radical ideas about taxation, public education, women’s and gay rights, environmental regulation and the role of government itself.

While the tea party has lost steam nationally, its adherents remain active in North Carolina. Mark Hager, state coordinator for the 86 local groups associated with the Tea Party Patriots, said three new groups have joined since the election. He said Obama’s re-election was “somewhat distressing,” but he said Republican victories in North Carolina have made the state “a pretty good model” of the tea party’s approach to government.

There was no RESOUNDING victory for Hussein!!! He wan in a squeaker with heavy doses of fraud and with the help of a compliant media. The low information voters came out for their free stuff, and the taxpayer is about to get soaked.

If there is a God, those same low information voters are about to meet the reality that elections have consequences.

Most of us can take the hits (and wince) of obozocare and the rest of the oboma claus costs — it could (and hopefully will) cause real pain for most his voters. The more agony for them the better.

Yes I do hate President Obama. He represents a new episode in US History, his is the first “Vengeful Presidency.”

I started detesting Obama in 2007 when he advised Rial Odinga to turn the Orange Party into the streets and countryside , initiating tribal genocide in which 7000 Kenyans died. Obama has pursued his course unwaveringly with tens of thousands of deaths in Libya, Egypt and Syria. Wherever the POSHITUS goes, thousands die, he is a walking corpse creator. He even kills his own people with impunity like he did in Benghazi and in Operation Fast and Furious. He commits acts of war by executive order without any declaration from Congress, as he has done in Mexico and Libya.

And now in his final term Obama will bring such death home to America.

America will grow to hate Obama as sure as each one of us lives and breathes. Some of us can see a little further ahead than the rest of us, as seen in the article referenced below.

So the fact that Pelosi forced a bill that none of our representatives were allowed to read, had nothing at all to do with the collapse of confidence in the DC establishment ?

Sorry DC, but a vote of no confidence is coming, and you have no where to hide.

...this is an opportunity, an awful opportunity to be sure but one we must pursue unless we all want to grab our guns groceries and gold, run to Texas and rebel against the third American tyranny.

None of my state's (SC) GOP congressional delegation has or ever will vote for ANY tax increases on ANYBODY cuz we won't let them!

Can you say the same?

Another blatant lie in an article full of them. Seriously is this a news article or an editorial? With the MSM it's tough to tell at times.

0bmacare may be popular among the freeloaders, especially since the sh#t sandwich hasn't really kicked in yet. Now all we see is the kids on their parents plans till 27, the free birth control & free abortions. Take a look at next years premiums and the host of new taxes coming. Wonder why this all comes in AFTER the election? Even the most liberal economists are predicting a return to a recession. As far as I can tell we haven't left recession since '08.

What a crock of a story.
Obamacare passed because the democrats held all three branches of
Government. The Tea Party corrected part of that by regaining the house
in 2010.
If the Tea Party has fallen so much, why do the MSM keep talking
and writing about the Tea Party.
In 2014 another wave will hit the house. Any GOP who votes for this
coming Tax Increase could be primaried out of office.

While the tea party has lost steam nationally,

That was the start of the tea party. Three years later, it appears to be coming to an end.

The health care law has been upheld by the Supreme Court and is gaining wide support as Americans come to appreciate its benefits and its savings.

Even the call for tighter controls on guns after the Newtown, Conn., shootings undercuts the tea party’s rigid, don’t-tread-on-me (or my guns) opposition to federal regulation.

Let’s hope there are some North Carolina Republicans who see what’s happening elsewhere and are willing to sing to the tri-cornered hat crowd, “turn out the lights. The party’s over.”

I notice that no one at newsobserver.com is willing to put THEIR name on this communist agenda "liberal and progressive" propaganda.

Reading the comments lends one to believe that it is merely a "me too" bit for the O-bots. They will defend their Fearless Reader to the last drop of everyone else's tax money and freedoms.

I travel on business to the Tarheel State a couple of times a month, and the transformation in North Carolina (since 2010) has been simply amazing—and welcome. Thanks largely to the Tea Party, the GOP now has a majority in the state legislature for the first time since Reconstruction. And the Republicans are holding the line on spending, so that sacred cows like the UNC system are having to justify new programs/spending.

Better yet, the Tea Party helped rid the state of the corrupt Easley/Perdue Democratic machine that controlled the governor’s office for the past 12 years. With a little luck, their lackey in the U.S. Senate (Kay Hagan) will be voted out in the next election.

Overall, I’d say North Carolina is in good shape, compared to places like Illinois and California which will probably go bankrupt in the next few years. North Carolinians should ask themselves where their state would be without the Tea Party.

This drivel is about what you’d expect from the News and Observer, which fancies itself as the Tobacco Road version of The New York Times. I especiallly liked the line about those Tea Party racists “locking in” their majority in the legislature. It’s called redistricting, and its the same technique the Dims used to retain power for decades.

Also on business often in NC. The party of control in the state for over 100 years, both houses and with some exceptions in governor’s-— demos. In partnership with federal demos/libs the state had devastating destruction of three major lynchpin industries as a result:

1.) the legendary quality furniture manufacturing (town names like Lexington, Thomasville)from sourced/managed natural hardwood forests and skilled artisans from the mtns and elsewhere- disappeared overseas— though the mart is still in High Point(dems trying to move it to Vegas where chinese can get at the buyers better—multiple inside stories on this, Vietnam, Indonesia mfg, etc.). Labor laws and revenue played major role.

2.) Tobacco- well, everyone knows it is deadly— so, why not make it illegal-— no, the dems knew to tax the hell out of it, use it as a tort fountain of cash to “help the chilren” and let the companies outsource their tobacco from, get this- Zimbabwe (mugabe friend of the dems). All the while providing “settlement” money for “health” in the new mega non-industry— “health” care. To feed the university machines, public and private.

3.)Textiles: massive closings of major companies throughout the state over decades— again by labor organizers, govt. regs, import/export manipulation and taxes NOT friendly to industry and real paying jobs. These towns are ghost towns, just like the furniture ones.
The Easley/Perdue faction was bolstered by the DOT fiefdoms of ridiculous cash slush funds, ostensibly for “roads” but really banked for political machine use. The capper was the obamaomau stimulus money that ALL went to the NC based Bank of America (aka bank of obamaorica).

The main danger is that in dismantling this decades long machinery you then get “rice bowl” reactions from generations who have supped long and hard at the trough of democrat machine largesse, and will not give it up. It is hard to get them off the teat. Indeed it was, and is in its decline, a criminal organization.

NC is full of great talented people (like the woodworking artisans mentioned earlier and geniuses with machinery, engines, equipment-thanks NASCAR)-these are white, black, hispanics and others who have been KEPT POOR and who have suffered a long time at the hands of people like Easley, Perdue, UNC commie lib BS artists, and the scions of Duke (which you would think, being a upper crust type expensive private school would not bite the hand of private endowment money— but it is getting a great deal from the federal trough— the obamaomau-care fountain of nothing).

The TEA party (and that needs to be the way we spell it, with the initials for Taxed Enough Already)in NC is a diverse group of people— have seen them. They are black tobacco farmers, and white ones, and small business owners of every kind. They are people who would take risks if they weren’t Taxed Enough Already. Many are descendants of the original pioneers who began the Revolution against tyrant English taxes and corruptocrats, at a battle well before the Boston affairs— a battle in Alamance, NC. Many more, later again in the Revolution and the WBTS— all to stop the tyranny of taxes, and for freedom to be.
Deo Vindice.

What does a crony election have to do with a corrupt oligarchical government ? Perhaps we should examine just how corrupt and stupid the people running the US government just happen to be.

They have given us the moral authority to ignore their Supreme Court, and they expect us to still obey their stupid paper crony laws. Americans only obey laws they want to obey or feel obligated to obey. The US Supreme Court nullified itself when the majority and dissent opinion was written by the same individual. That was a vote of no confidence. So any laws the US Legislature passes now, are meaningless. BTW - Is that not exactly what the Prezzy thinks anyway ? Would he have not ignored the Supreme Court Ruling if it had retained its integrity and not become corrupted ?

Then the idiots double down on stupidity, and use a school shooting by a lunatic savant to physically attempt to take our guns. And they expect that we the people will agree that the actions of an looney savant should be applied to us in some form or fashion. We do not agree. And that is proven by the off-the-hook guns sales since Sandy Hook. That is a vote of no confidence. We have no confidence that our government will protect our school children, our ambassadors or any single one of us anymore. In fact we now view the US Government as the primary threat to our life, liberty and our pursuit of happiness.

Our guns are the only means we still have to protect us from the evils of tyrannical governments. So now they are giving us a physical defensive reason to stop them in their tracks. And then you compound everything else they have recently done to us: immense out-of-control debt levels; excusing terrorist attacks against American citizens; taking away our liberties with anti-terror laws; ignoring mass voter fraud; making hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants legal; selling guns to drug lords; supporting Al Qeada terrorist in Syria and Libya; and they still expect us not to take advantage of the opportunity they now present ? Do these idiots even know how long we have been anticipating this opportunity ?

Have a Happy New Year !

If you haven't visited rural North Carolina recently, you're in for a surprise when you do.

When driving through rural North Carolina twenty years ago, you'd find little crossroad shanty towns and trailer parks around a general store and a gas station. Poor blacks and poor whites lived there and worked on the local farms, the local slaughter houses, or the chicken processing plants.

Today, if you drive through rural North Carolina, you'll find these shanty towns and trailer parks filled with illegal Mexican immigrants, the gas station is now closed, the general store has a sign on the front that says, “Tienda Mexicana,” and you'll wonder what has happened to all the poor blacks and whites who once lived and worked there; have they moved on, improved their lives, and have they now achieved the “American Dream” of success and security for themselves and their families?

These poor blacks and poor whites who once labored in the fields, slaughter houses, and chicken processing plants have now been replaced by illegal Mexican immigrants and have now moved to the city where they live the “American Dream.” They are now in government subsidized housing, receive monthly welfare checks, food stamps (EBT card), free medical care (Medicaid)and will live happily ever after, as long as they continue to vote Democrat and as long as you and I continue to work and pay taxes.

Excellent post; all of your points are spot on.

Moving forward, I can only hope the TEA Party in North Carolina can maintain its momentum. The Dims are hoping that enthusiasm for the movement begins to fade; meanwhile, they are planning to re-build their party by maximizing voter turnout in the Triangle Region and among minority voters in eastern North Carolina. The Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area has grown exponetially over the past 30 years, and it’s loaded with prototypical Democratic voters: university students and faculty; health care industry employees, government workers and significnt blocs of minority voters in places like Durham and Raleigh.

The new Republican majority in NC is already doing great things, and they should publicize every taxpayer dollar saved; every wasteful program that is canceled and every new job that is created in North Carolina, thanks to a more favorable business climate.

It would also be great if they could do something to bring back the traditional industries of the state. Unfortunately (as you observe) the Dims killed off tobacco and textiles, and high end furniture appears to be on its last legs. For that, we can thank the party of the working man, and the machine that ran the state for more than 100 years.

This much is certain: the Dims won’t give up without a fight, and the GOP doesn’t know how to achieve total victory-in most cases. If the NC Republican Party is interested in being a long-term majority, they should follow the model of neighboring South Carolina. When my military career took me to the Palmetto State in 1980, the Republican Party there consisted (almost literally) of Strom Thurmond and two other guys. The GOP took a long haul approach and built from the ground up. Thirty years later, there isn’t a single Democrat who holds statewide office in South Carolina and that isn’t likely to change anytime soon.

Obviously, NC is a different state, and the growth of the Triangle counties gives the Dims a fighting chance. But the broad-based coalition you speak of can be durable and long-lasting, if the new GOP majority delivers. So far, the results appear encouraging.

One last thought: the next election cycle in NC will be the most vicious since the Jesse Helms/Harvey Gantt race decades ago. Every GOP candidate will be branded a racist and Tea Party affiliation will equate to KKK membership. The Dims in NC aren’t used to being a political minority and they will pull out all the stops to reverse the GOP tide.
