NEW YORK'S JOURNAL NEWS TELLS CRIMINALS WHICH HOMEOWNERS ARE UNARMED
Big Journalism ^

When New York's Journal News published an interactive map revealing the names and addresses of legal gun owners in Westchester and Rockland counties, their intent seems to have been to heap shame on those gun owners and direct public ire toward them as well. However, one other thing they unwittingly accomplished was letting criminals know which homeowners are unarmed and therefore, which homeowners could be sitting ducks.

Think about it: The release of a list of the homes of legal gun owners is simultaneously a hint at which homeowners are not gun owners.

They expanded upon the list again even after somebody published a list of where all the Newspaper employees involved lived. Some of these newspaper employees had guns of their own. I hope if any criminal does go hot they do it there.

...and beat her to death with a bat.

That's weird. I was talking to my boss Friday about all this gun control crap Feinstein is trying to pull. He's a retired cop. He told me that the most common weapon used in murders is a baseball bat.

Was the list "legal gun owners" or CCW permit holders? Makes a big difference as there are a lot of guns that stay at home, under the bed or behind the bedroom door. That would make for a big disappointment for a Home invader.

In the last 6 months, we had two "crime sprees" in my area.

[a place with virtually no crime due to the Hillbilly Factor]

The first was a copper theft wave.

The second, cars were broken into and everything of value taken.

My neighbors and my dad have always laughed at my signs.

Even though the neighbor, just a hundred yards away got hit *both* times, we never did.

[and the garage where his wiring was stolen is less than 50 feet from my front fence]

My car was unlocked with an iPad, and iPod and and iPhone within plain sight, after having come home from a long trip that day.

The truck had my wedding ring in it, waiting to be worked on by the jeweler and a Garmin on the dash.

The neighbor's car were broken into and ransacked.

So were my parents' vehicles.

They don't snicker about my signs, anymore.

Breitbart takes a leap into inaccuracy in that report. As the title reveals :
NEW YORK'S JOURNAL NEWS TELLS CRIMINALS WHICH HOMEOWNERS ARE UNARMED
The actual map published by The Journal News only reveals the addresses of all pistol permit holders The map does not indicate the possession of anything other than pistol permits. There are potentially many other types of weapons in residences - regardless of whether they are flagged on that map.

By doubling down and expanding the initial effort, it's apparent The Journal News will soon discover the-law-of- unintended-consequences readily provides painful and co$tly lessons. This paper and its parent company have exposed themselves to a pandoras box of potential litigation.

If a person is clever they can make a gun in their own garage. I recall a little thing called a Zip Gun. OR most Black Powder weapons are not regulated—at close range an 1860s era six shooter can be devastating. Or what about a crossbow? One shot but at close range it can punch a bolt right though a person. Then there are homemade things—rubberbands —if strong enough, can put a steel brad right though a two by four. Even a squirt gun loaded with toxic things can be awful-—even loaded with lemon juice—aim for the eyes and a foe is blinded. Then there are swords, maces, tomahawks, axes, baseball bats and other things.
ALso a very big dog! A huge animal that will sell his life to defend you. A bad guy better kill it with the first shot—or it will use its last dying breath to rip out his throat! Dogs can’t be intimidated.
