The Tea Party has had an up-and-down political ride since the movement helped Republicans take control of the House in 2010, but those elected in the midterm elections still appear to wield considerable power in the fiscal negotiations.
The roughly 50 members elected to the House two years ago have been a challenge for the more moderate House Speaker John Boehner since they took office. Perhaps most memorably, many of them refused last year to support a debt-ceiling bill because they said it didnt reduce federal spending enough.
Just last week they squashed Boehners fiscal plan by refusing to compromise and vote on a tax increase for any American, despite the House speaker -- in his so-called Plan B -- having suggested extending tax cuts only for those making more than $1 million annually.

GO TEA PARTY!!!
Just pass a Bill making the current tax rates permanent and adjourn the House. Tell Obama and Reid that negotiations over the debt ceiling will not start until that Bill is passed by the Senate and signed into law by the President.
Oh how they wish the tea party was dead
Well, we aren’t dead by any means but the GOP is sure trying to kill us.
Boehner and the rest of the RINO’s better WTFU. The Tea Party is just getting ready to fight.
Republicans should have been saying this for months.
I believe the GOP is trying to kill itself, and I don’t know whether to be worried or giddy. The TEA Party is alive and well despite the wishes and efforts of Obama, the Democrat Party, the OFM (Obama-fellating media), and the GOP-e.
So far...but without political power, for how long?
Reports of the death of the TEA party have been greatly
overstated as they are going to find out.
Last week, didn’t BamBam say the Tea Party amused him? I wonder how amused he is today.
These chuckleheads are heroes. They are trying to pull us out of the financial death spiral the rest of the politicians are studiously ignoring.
The mess we have should be faced by the politicians who created it. No more "creative legislation".
Got Eternal Vigilance?
It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before usthat from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotionthat we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vainthat this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedomand that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.
But, history repeatedly demonstrates it takes a few frogs in the air before the We The People feel enough pain to return to the Creators path of self-evident Truth.
Because of this, God gave them over... Romans 1++
So our servants might wanna pack a raincoat, and a toadbrella, before leaving The House. Looks like the Weathermen might be bringing rain.
1. No one has taxed themselves into prosperity
2. No one has spent themselves into prosperity
The DemocRAT party is RICO entity. Amateur incompetent thugs, crooks, thieves, and liars.
Stand tall guys!!
It may give me hope all is not lost. Even if this battle is lost...the war may not be.
What you said ..... it’s called playing hardball instead of what’s been going on: hacky sack.
