I also read all three books. But I have to admit, I got tired of the repetition. I agree it was a love story.......however unbelievable it may be. They got married like after 3 weeks or so.
My husband read a few pages and was bored to tears and refused to read any more.
What surprised me was when I read that the hotels in Europe were replacing the King James Bible with 50 Shades of Grey.
It is absurd for a college to offer a class on this. How will this help someone get a job? Parents should be outraged and taxpayers should protest. I don’t want my tax money to support this garbage.
LOL! Yes the repetition was a bit tiring after the first book and I think it was about two months after they met that they married. Met in May married by the end of July...:)
I read for the entertainment value, I also liked Deborah Harkness’s, A Discovery Of Witches, which is part of the All Souls Trilogy. The last book is due out next year (2013). You might enjoy it too.
They are beautifully written with many historic references as Deborah is a Professor and Historian.
This series was an adult take on the Cinderella fantasy. For me it was compelling. Not everyone liked it but everyone has different tastes.
Cinderella had anal sex??? Ewwwww!
bump
I don’t see pre-teen kids demanding to be brainwashed into little perverts. Schools and media do that for them.
Don't like it, don't read it.
Yes I loved that it ended with a mom and dad married with children.
That won’t make the feminist teaching the stupid class happy since traditional marriage is oppression for many feminists.
Freep-mail me to get on or off my pro-life and Catholic List:
Please ping me to note-worthy Pro-Life or Catholic threads, or other threads of general interest.
As I said, I’m not planning to. I prefer Nelson DeMille where the terrorists die.
Fifty Shades of Grey or Relative Morality
Please give me the page where Christian and Ana had anal sex. I don’t remember it.
I like Vince Flynn. Must see if I will like DeMille as well
Interesting article -
I have no interest in reading crap, especially perverted crap, but certainly don’t want censorship. Just have to wonder about women who enjoy this crap. And how interesting the perverted guy’s name is “Christian”. Of all the names the writer (a term I use loosely) chose Christian. Anti-christs all around.
I guess read at your own risk.
Thanks, but “Revelations radio?” and an article ( I use that term loosely) written by a guy named Tim, no last name? We’ll agree to disagree.
Originally, this was posted ToThe Ulsterman Report, which we are not allowed to link to, even though some here do.
Guess you fully support what is described here:
“The main character is described in pigtails, given words like Holy Cow down there, jeez double crap she cant operate a computer (but is supposedly a college graduate), describes skipping and doing cartwheels, repeatedly says she is made to feel like a child, has her imaginary friend (inner goddess) feels shame, is spanked and slathered in BABY OIL, told what to say, what to eat, what to do, until finally and sadly so predictably, is physically beaten. (But she returns to him soon after, which is again, a very common theme of abuse, including pedophilia)”
Sometimes you have to call a spade a spade.
She is 21 and NO matter how hard you try & make their relationship one of a pedophile & his victim it won’t work. You are obviously obsessed w/ this book and able to quote /remember whole swatches.
Have at it!
It’s because they never did have it.
Thank you for a reasonable reponse that is filled w/ fact from someone who ACTUALLY read the books! Love them or hate them, but I CAN’T stand when someone tries to be my nanny. I’m a grown up!
I agree about it being taught in college. Really!?
Hey, dingus, the quote was from the article which you obviously didn’t read.
I did not quote anything from memory, nor am I obsessed with this book.
I am simply pointing out the basis for my first post, which YOU disagreed with.
Attack me, but not what the article says.Way to go.
Change your name to “leaning left”.
