With the federal government approaching the so-called “fiscal cliff,” when federal income tax rates will increase across-the-board back to the level they were under President Bill Clinton, President Barack Obama’s disapproval has climbed 5 points in the Gallup polled since Christmas. …

"...fewer people voted for RR than for John McCain which I can't believe either."

Well, you shouldn't believe it, because it didn't happen.

Romney got about a million more votes than McCain did, and Obama 2012 got about four million fewer votes than Obama 2008 did. Also, about 200,000 more people voted for a third party than in 2008. All the totals moved in the right direction - just not far enough.

The one that scares me is the transaction tax.

That one is nearly a Done Deal IMHO.

Chat with the average Joe in the street who did not care much for Wall Street before (and is now triply torqued-off about the bailout) and he has 100% bought into the Leftist rhetoric about "making them pay it back".

I also think FICA withholding will get extended to very high levels of income. Perhaps to every last dime. There is simply no political will to address Social Security in any other way.

Unfortunately, nobama has a (virtually) guaranteed four more years to destroy America.

The presidental pollsters may as well fold their tents and go home. nobama’s approval rate is completely meaningless now.

What’s the difference between him having a 90% approval rate and a 10% approval rate? Nothing.

Of course people are going to blame Obama.
This whole fiscal cliff debacle was started because Obama wanted to raise taxes. If he and Democrats hadn’t wanted to raise taxes we would not be at this cliff.
I think people are starting to get that.

What I am hearing is that it will be a buried tax.... it will not be an income tax... but a VAT + a carbon tax...

Wait until THAT increases the price of Thunderbird. THAT'll get their attention!

Bush's fault!

In my opinion, massive voter fraud and corruption reelected the Dictator and his RAT goon cohorts.

Where to go? My husband and I are probably stuck, because no country wants old fogeys unless they are rich, and that leaves us out. However, if things get worse here, I hope our kids and grandchildren could escape.

People who criticize you should wake up and realize that the majority of the people in this country have chosen to become another Greece. I see no reason to be part of this destruction if one can avoid it.

“Where to go?”

For couples, Central and South America are very popular now.
Go to www.internationalliving.com, and www.escapefromamerica.com
Living there is far cheaper then in the USSA.
The Philippines is VERY cheap, but seems to appeal mostly to single men with Philippine wives.
I see very few American couples, probably because of immigration laws.

“DXCC.....Impressive
WPM???
Eur, Asia or SA/M”

I am not sure of your question.
I did make “DXCC top of the honor roll” as K4ZKZ.
I received the call W4EX after the death of Claude, W4EX.
He was a good friend, a blind man, and was the top DXer in the world when he died in the late 90s.
I am now living in the Philippines, and no longer active in ham radio.

All snakes are not the same. Most of them are quite beneficial. They eat rodents which carry the plague and other diseases as well as damaging human crops.

That story is about a particular kind of snake - an adder - a venomous European critter and the author of that story is Aesop in Aesop’s Fables.

Thanks. Anything wrong with the moral of the story, even though I didn’t specify Adder?

A tiger is a tiger.

“Of course people are going to blame Obama.”

No way in hell are most people going to blame Obama. The left’s spin machine is so effective that 75% of the population will blame the GOP in general, and GOP Congress in particular. They already do.

Thanks for the information! Some people I know are considering Estonia or Iceland, too. Estonia, of course, lives in Russia’s shadow, and Iceland may still not have recovered from their economic crisis. Most of these countries have socialized medicine, but some also still have a private system on the side.

It’s so sad that this is even a consideration, since the US used to be the place everyone in the world wanted to be.
