I lived between Slovakia and Tennessee from 2002 till 2004, when I spent a summer in Romania. I also spent time in Budapest.
I moved to Slovakia in Jan. 2005 and stayed till moving to the Philippines in Jan 09.
I really enjoyed Slovakia, and also visited Czech Republixc.
I can recommend either country.
I also visited Bulgaria, not bad, and Serbia, not so good, but I hear good things about Croatia.
