Rolling back out-of-control spending—not raising taxes on the rich—will keep America fiscally sound and prevent the country from falling off the cliff, California Rep. Darrell Issa said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union.” …

The chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee said the size of government has ballooned during the last decade, and President Barack Obama shows no signs of stopping it.

He said the president would have had a fiscal-cliff deal “in a New York minute” if he offered $100 billion in tax increases, disproportionately on the wealthy, and $400 billion in cuts. …

America has spread its wealth around the world in order to buy friends. The government has given away America's wealth and technology in a misguided attempt to be viewed as the "good guy."

This is the equivalent of Coca-Cola giving away it's recipe, and helping the fund the construction of bottling plants for its rivals around the world. All in an effort to appear to be a nice corporation. And then the stockholders wake up one day to wonder "what happened...?"

Sounds like our economic policy vis-à-vis Red China. You can never buy friends; people that are bought are only mercenaries (or as Hosea 8:9 puts it, “hired lovers”) . . .

Issa shouldn’t complain about others not cutting spending. Where is his plan to actually BALANCE THE BUDGET someday? The republican plan only slightly slows the growth of the debt.

It’s already happened.

The media is waiting to print the obituary until they can pin it on someone other than Obama.

Losing economic power?

Wait ‘till the dollar loses its status as the world’s reserve currency.

Being the holder of the world’s currency reserve is kinda like being the “fastest gun in the West.” There’s always a younger, faster gun slinger looking to knock you off. The more nobama the The Bernanke play in the fiscal sandbox, the greater the chance China or Japan or ? takes away our status.

Obama thinks the government can’t be broke because the still have checks.
Never hire anyone who has never done anything except mooch.

America at Risk of Losing Economic Power ?
America maybe losing it's economic power but the new oil boom is a bright spot of or nation's future if only it is allowed to grow and prosper.
Even some companies that outsourced or moved over seas in the last decade has found that it's cheaper to bring their production and business back to our shores.
The new oil boom maybe America's last great hope for a bright economic future and still remain a economic power hour in this world.

Hey Darell Issa ? you need to make it plain for the hard headed numb skulls there in Washington that at what point will it be to late to close the barn door after the horses have left the barn ?
I do believe we have already or almost there where it's to late to keep our government from going over the financial cliff.... not that you really care Washington.

Trying to appease people with money and trying to make friends with money is a double edged sword.
At a certain point they will either abandon you when you run out of money, and or turn on you and then you will be left with no friends and no more money.

Hey Darrell you only realize this now?

Just another reason I call him the Chairman of the House Committee on Hindsight and Government Expansion.
