The Obama Left's stupidity and hatred cannot be underestimated. This moron says that if you buy a gun company and then kill it, all the guns the company produced will disappear. Never heard of competition. Never heard of another company then producing the same or similar product and selling it instead. Thinks anyone who works for a gun company deserves to be out of work. So hates capitalism that he has no clue. The perfect Bloomberg writer. The perfect fool.

What an opportunity.

Form a company and announce imminent production of a super scarey looking rifle. Then sit back and collect $100,000,000 from frightened billionaire ninnies.

You are exactly correct. The idea is, spend a lot of money, then destroy all the value... Brilliant!!!

I believe Bushmaster is the sole supplier to the military for a number of weapons. The most well known being the 25mm cannon which can be found on Bradleys, LAVs, and naval vessels, incl IIRC, the new littoral warfare ships. So I suppose Obama could demand a stoppage of manufacturing ARs or the Pentagon will get its 25s from China.

I have a better idea. Only a liberal would suggest buying a going concern and then throwing it in the trash can. I would like to see some true patriots propose a public solicitation for investors to buy the company out. If things continue the way they are headed, we are going to need our own company. Count me in.

DiFi’s new “assault weapons” ban bill will classify all AR-15’s/AK-47’s, etc. as Class III weapons (fully automatic) and requiring registration and a $200 tax. Also allows the ATF to inspect your home anytime they want for anything they want. You give up 4th amendment rights.

If you don’t register yours, ATF will be going to all “assault weapons” manufacturers, getting serial numbers, contacting dealers who legally sold such weapons, getting names/addresses of all legal purchaser’s (as they now do when investigating a weapon used in a crime), and paying them a visit to see if they still have them.

I.E. - you are screwed.

So even if you don’t comply with registering - you are dead.

We have to fight this bill like it’s our last stand. Because it very well may be.

Oh - and if this law passes, all manufacturers that specialize in AR-15 format weapons will be immediately put out of business.

Bushmaster the company does not manufacture the Bushmaster auto cannon you describe. They only make rifles and pistols - the Bushmaster cannon was designed by what was McDonnell Douglas and is produced by Alliant Techsystems (ATK).

If the colonists at Lexington & Concord had your attitude, we'd still be British subjects.

Pessimism and defeatism are not options, while DiFi's proposal is a bill or even if it becomes law.

Why not have lefty billionaires buy out drug dealers to stop drug consumption. But, that would deprive Bolshies of many of their voters.

Her bill will go nowhere.
Saying that, a Bushmaster (or more big magazines for my Mini 14) are on my shopping list.

You misread my intent, or I failed to communicate - or both.

In no way was I suggesting giving up. Was trying to just state facts, and our need to fight this bill.

Do I think it will pass? No. Does that mean we can be passive? No.
Was I suggesting that anyone should comply if it does pass? No.

One of Sun Tzu’s prime requirements for winning a war is to know your enemy. It was only along that line that I made my post.

Bushmaster assembles their guns from components purchased on the open market.

Close down Bushmaster and the other manufacturers just have more market share.

If you own a gun company and they want to buy you out and are willing to offer a premium, take it! Then move across the street, rehire all the gun manufacturing employees that got laid off, buy brand new equipment, hang out a shingle and call yourself Bushmaster II, or Bushmonster, or SmarterThanRichLibs Inc!

And if they cease selling under the Bushmaster brand, the trademarks will be up for grabs.

Understood. If DiFi’s intent is to threaten/scare (currently) law-abiding gun owners into complying, she is misunderestimating their resolve.

Yeah, LoL. Leftist billionaire buys a gun company at an extraordinary selling price to end its existence. Except dummkopf forgets that the old owners and/or employees start up a new gun company or companies with all that lefty start up money. LoL. Yes, that’s the ticket Doomberg scribble. LoL.

Check out Windham Weaponry - from the folks who made Bushmaster several years ago, before Freedom Group bought them out.

“I believe Bushmaster is the sole supplier to the military for a number of weapons.”

It is true that Bushmaster has had (has) government contracts, but for M16/M4 components. Alliant Tech Systems (ATK) builds the M242 “Bushmaster” or former-Hughes “Chain Gun”. Ditto the 30mm Bushmaster II Mk 44 gun. ATK is also a large ammunition supplier for DoD.

Illinois, one of the most anti-gun pits in the US, has more manufacturers building AR-15 platforms and components than any other single state in the union. I have ordered 2 lower recievers from RGuns in Carpentersville, of excellent Mil-spec quality and value and built two ARs from them. When you consider all the other manufactuers of “black rifles” nationwide, these billionaires will be pretty busy gobblingthem up.

The stupidity of gun grabbing liberals is only exceeded by their incipient tyranny.
