Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, perhaps the most famous current female political figure, has fallen ill. "In the course of a follow-up exam today, Secretary Clinton's doctors discovered a blood clot had formed, stemming from the concussion she sustained several weeks ago. She is being treated with anti-coagulants and is at New York-Presbyterian Hospital so that they can monitor the medication over the next 48 hours," a spokesman for the former first lady said yesterday in a statement.
Clinton's illness, and the fact that she has not been seen in public in the last three weeks, has prompted a slew of wild conspiracy theories.
"EXCLUSIVE! HILLARY CLINTON BRAIN CRISIS," the National Enquirer headline reads. "Only days after The ENQUIRER exclusively reported that Secretary of State HILLARY CLINTON was at the center of a shocking brain cancer drama and was undergoing extensive secret medical tests, her reps went public with the news on Sunday night Dec. 30 that she was indeed hospitalized in New York City and disclosed that she was battling a blood clot that had formed following her head concussion earlier this month!"

My theory she had a stroke. The rest is just smoke and mirrors to allow time to she if she can recover to the point the public can’t detect any stroke related damage.

Clever wording. Of course it doesn’t specify WHAT specific treatment the follow-up was for. The wording of Clinton’s press folks clearly want you to believe that it was a follow-up for treatment of a concussion.
And, a “followup” on a Sunday? Very strange indeed.

She probably is ill and if so, political feelings aside, hope for a swift recovery BUT from the woman who brought us Rose Law Firm, Vince Foster, ‘standing by’ WJC, coining the phrase “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy”, crying on cue (Lazio), jetting around the world on OUR dime and not really accomplishing anything, hiding for the 3 mos prior election, hiding after election, stomach flue, concussion, blood clot etc etc IF someone were to report her passing tomorrow I wouldn’t believe it until I saw her casket closed at grave side then lowered into the ground. Then I would be skeptical.
I have always been somewhat aloof, standoffish, prone to hide my true feelings but THIS ADMINISTRATION has brought out a side of me that even ‘scares’ me.
I used to think I was a decent, caring person but at this point I don’t really think anything can happen to this current crop of pols that would really bring anything but disdain and apathy.

Not good. Warfarin prevents new clots but is useless against pre-existing clots. It's hard to diagnose since her brains always been jello in a blender.

Oh good grief. I have less than no love for the Clintons but the woman has a blood clot. She’s ill. Too many of us will believe, quite frankly, ANYTHING.

I agree, based on what is being reported, a stroke makes sense.

I call it a Sovietization of US administration. As soon as a good comrade failed too much and it is so huge no whitewash or scapegoat can save a day he is developing a “health condition” and no questions are asked.
Actually it is used to treat a clot. As you said it will prevent additional clotting as the body naturally dissolves the clot. This can be done on an outpatient basis. Heparin can and is used on an inpatient basis to treat an acute clot. There are numerous other anti clotting agents that can also be used.
The thing that confuses me is with the original concussion why was she not immediately hospitalized and a CAT scan of her head done. Also if she was immobilized after the original concussion she should have been on anticoagulants to prevent a clot forming.
This story stinks from beginning to end.
Could it be a radical face lift in preparation for 2016??

I believe it was with Bill, I believe the article said it’s a resort in the Dominican Republic, I think it was a party for some Euro Socialst group, Bill probably picked up a fresh supply of cigars. I thought that odd, to ill to talk to Congress but well enough to travel out of the country to party and now home and hospitalized and can’t talk to anyone.

I’m leaning more towards cirrhosis of the liver. But knowing Obama, his White House Junta, Chicago politics, Democrats and socialist history. Hillary is going to be incommunicado, well cared for and hopefully (for Obama) away from public scrutiny and any testimony well into 2013.

True, but as a Christian you are SUPPOSED to pray for Chavez too. Many on this site seem to revel in the sickeness and death of those we don’t agree with....that is a huge sin against God. It is not easy being Christian...I don’t think it was ever meant to be.
My top guesses in order:
1. Facelift
2. She is deliberately faking illness to avoid testifying.
3. Puppetmasters are telling her to fake illness to avoid testifying.
4. Puppetmasters are making her ill and she is unable to fight them.
5. Real or fake illness because she has been publicly humiliated and can’t face it any more. (This may be less likely than #6 or #7, since she has never had the decency to be ashamed of herself before.)
6. Genuine illness as reported.
7. Some other illness that is more embarrassing.
I could probably come up with a few more options, but these are the top on my list.
