I was driving when my middle age crush, Mr. Steyn (swooning right now) talked about going over the fiscal cliff in a Honda Civic because we COULDN’T go over said cliff in a Chevy Volt...it would run out of juice 200 yards short...and I laughed...and boy do I need a good laugh!
And then Mark (in my daydreams we are on a first name basis) mentioned McConnel whispering into Biden’s ear...about the paternity of baby Kardashian...brilliant, just brilliant.
Sigh.

If this deal is a tax increase, it’s not economically sound for the private sector, but for government it’s a windfall!!! Being pre-empted...Nooooo....
I think a lot of Americans don’t even believe there’s a fiscal crisis. They’ve been hearing for years (those who occasionally bother to listen) that the govt can’t continue to spend more than it takes in, and nothing happens that affects them, so they don’t believe there’s really a problem.
I think that’s a Winger song, ‘Headed for a Downgrade’, for full disclosure, I am not in the bond market.

If you ran your household, or I ran a business, like the corrupt, criminal US Govt runs itself, we’d have been bankrupt and living in a cardboard refrigerator carton, 70 yrs ago. We went over the ‘fiscal cliff’ 3-4yrs ago, and just haven’t hit the bottom, yet.
