Gay couples are preparing for New Years Day weddings in the first state south of the Mason-Dixon Line to allow same-sex marriage, which will become legal in Maryland on Tuesday.
The new law takes effect at 12:01 a.m. and follows a legislative fight that pitted Gov. Martin OMalley against leaders of his Catholic faith. Voters in the state, founded by Catholics in the 17th century, sealed the change by approving a November ballot question.

Big deal being made about a technically Dixie state spitting in the faces of all decent Dixie mores.
Maryland will never get a dime of any future, if ever, vacation plans.
“Well, isn’t that precious?”
glad i no longer live in the freak state.
Martin OMalley is a Catholic.
As a Baptist I can’t understand why he and other are not publically excommunicated.
Same as any other reason, $$$. Why would any identifying Catholic or Christian vote for Obama? Nobody cares about the country anymore it is all about what “I” get.

Happy New Year.
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
Martin OMalley is a Catholic in name only because he was raised Catholic and he should be excommunicated in my opinion.
He is also pro-abortion.
I am a Catholic and he is a shame.
I don’t think that Maryland was actually a genuine southern state since LBJ’s ‘Great Society’ when Nancy Pelosi’s brother Thomas L. J. D’Alesandro III was mayor of Baltimore City.
