Rand Paul: Obama phones are bankrupting the country [Misleading Title]
Washington Examiner ^
Posted on 12/31/2012 1:37:50 PM PST by Perdogg
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., argued that President Obama is not being honest when he indicates that tax increases on the wealthy, without significant spending cuts, can bring fiscal stability to the nation.
They offer you baubles, Paul said in describing D.C. lawmakers, especially Obama. They offer you something for free: Heres a cell phone. Just take the cell phone and vote for me, itll be okay. Heres the problem: Its not free. On the one hand, you get the free cell phone; on the other hand, you get four dollar gas. On the other hand, you get the price of food rising. Why do prices go up? Because we run a deficit up here giving you free stuff, and then we print up money to pay for it and that steals value from what you have.

On the one hand, you get the free cell phone; on the other hand, you get four dollar gas. That might be a good way of explaining it to an ignorant public. The higher price of gas is directly related to the higher price of government. Of course market forces have an effect on the price, but taxes and the weakness of the dollar are a major component of that price we see at gas stations.

I would take Rand Paul as a smart and serious contender for ‘16 if his whacko father would have accepted the defeat with manly dignity and endorsed Romney, rather than acting like sore loser bi**h and having his zombie devotees follow suit, and screwing up the chance to rid ourselves of this Muslim idiot.

If a person is paying 10,000 in taxes and then “gets back” 5,000 in deductions, then why not only have them pay 5,000 in taxes?
Also why does no one get that having a tiered “progressive” tax system that is “supposedly fair” nothing but a tool for politicians on BOTH sides as a wedge for them playing class/economic warfare.
Anyone who picked up a Math Book in school and can actually understand it would realize that a Simple all inclusive FLAT tax is the only damn system that even approaches being “logically fair”.

The story is about Rand Paul. Rand Paul enthusiastically endorsed Romney。 What in the hell more do you want?

Paul’s endorsement would have done nothing.
We were saddled with crap by the MSM and country club republicans and the base stayed home. That and the crooked voting in Ohio Florida and Pennsylvania lost us the election. Had we won. We would have been under zer0bama lite. Romney was put there to lose. Romney fought tooth and nail to win the primaries then bent over and presented his rump to zer0 in the general. What a POS.
Ps I held my nose and voted for Romney anyway

In order to speak at the Republican Convention Ron Paul was asked to _fully_ endorse Romney and he refused. They should have just let him speak and half endorse Romney! ;)

I'm waiting for the principled representative who asks what authority is given by our Constitution to rob "wealthy" people to provide a cell phone, food, whatever to someone else. How much of someone elses money is it okay to steal to give anything to someone else? Charity is a wonderful thing in America, but it is not charity when it is taken, not given. The lack of shame from those who vote to steal from others is astonishing.

I know someone who has an Obama phone, it doesn’t work half the time. No kidding, it is a piece of trash. Not only that but if the “bill” can be believed the government pays around $30 or $40 per month for a piece of crap that doesn’t work and the user pays around $10. So for $50 a month the user gets a dumb phone (as in not a smart phone) that works intermittently. They could get a pay as you go for the same price, but are too lazy and stupid to do it. Oh, BTW the call center for (non)support is located in a foreign country. Actually I find the whole thing hilarious except when I think about the fact that my taxes are paying for it.

Oh this is just silly plus the fact this program started under W. We cannot be bankrupted by cell phones for heavens sakes.

If someone pays $10,000 in taxes and after a $5,000 deduction ends up paying $5,000 in actual taxes actually allows the government the use of their money during the year. The government always wins, sadly!

Finally, a Republican who is not afraid to state the obvious. Unfortunately, Reid/McConnell are the ones calling the shots in the Senate.

Rand Paul is a uniquely gifted politician. Much like his father he is straightforward, and his speeches are honest and without guile. However, he's far more savvy than his father; he is a more wise and thoughtful man.
With any luck at all, Rand Paul can change the country.

Was it a Tracfone? I had one of those and dumped it. The fly-by-night carrier they assigned me must have been run by the Elbonian mafia -- changed names and address frequently and flat-out sucked. When I called to see if I could change that I couldn't get anyone who actually spoke english well enough we could communicate.
The owner of Tracfone is a BIG Øbama supporter and (surprise) is a Øbamaphone provider...
