On the one hand, you get the free cell phone; on the other hand, you get four dollar gas.
That might be a good way of explaining it to an ignorant public. The higher price of gas is directly related to the higher price of government. Of course market forces have an effect on the price, but taxes and the weakness of the dollar are a major component of that price we see at gas stations.

I'm waiting for the principled representative who asks what authority is given by our Constitution to rob "wealthy" people to provide a cell phone, food, whatever to someone else. How much of someone elses money is it okay to steal to give anything to someone else? Charity is a wonderful thing in America, but it is not charity when it is taken, not given. The lack of shame from those who vote to steal from others is astonishing.

I know someone who has an Obama phone, it doesn’t work half the time. No kidding, it is a piece of trash. Not only that but if the “bill” can be believed the government pays around $30 or $40 per month for a piece of crap that doesn’t work and the user pays around $10. So for $50 a month the user gets a dumb phone (as in not a smart phone) that works intermittently. They could get a pay as you go for the same price, but are too lazy and stupid to do it. Oh, BTW the call center for (non)support is located in a foreign country. Actually I find the whole thing hilarious except when I think about the fact that my taxes are paying for it.

( I still get a thrill up my leg when spell check doesn't recognize the name/word Obama!)
