The New Year's Eve fireworks celebration in Old Sacramento ended tragically before it had even begun: Someone pulled a gun during a fight inside the Sports Corner Cafe around 9:40 p.m., and now two people are dead three more have been shot, according to police. The midnight display was cancelled.

An eyewitness, who provided her name but asked not to be identified, was walking outside the bar when said she heard several gunshots. She said she ducked under a stairwell, turned, and saw a young man in a white hoodie run outside the door, pull out a handgun, turn it sideway and fire repeatedly into the building before fleeing into the crowd.

We used to visit Old Sacramento years ago before we got wise and bailed out of that state. It was a great place to visit. However, now it looks like it’s been taken over by Holders kids—if not his kids, then gangs.
Oh well, welcome to Obammy’s America.

They shoot that way because that’s the way they come in the box. Hat backwards? Demonstrating that they don’t know how to operate a hat. Probably why the switch to hoodies.

Seriously. They shoot that way because of the natural tendency to pull the gun to the side with the trigger pull.
A person is taller than they are wide, so pulling the gun up a little gives the perp a better chance of hitting his intended victim, verses pulling the shot off to one side.

I’ve heard/read that shooting that way increases the likelihood of the empty case not ejecting properly and jamming the gun, but have never seen proof one way or the other.

Old Sac has become a haven for gang bangers over the past several years. they’ve increased security which has helped, but there are a lot of animals running around Sacramento any more who have no restraint - case in point the punk who recently caused turmoil in a shopping mall for starting a fight just because he didn’t like the way someone looked at him.

Didn't they knock over a large sign that sounded like a gunshot and then the mall went into lockdown for a short time?

I understand the mechanics. It was meant in some humor. I do, however, have a question. If the object is to improve accuracy why so many bystanders get hit? Anyway I thought it was funny but I’m strange.
