I watched a Twilight Zone episode earlier tonight in which a man got tired of contemporary society and took a train back to another point in time. It was intriguing.

Where are the cuts? Republicans have done a incredible job fighting for taxes. BFD! We are broke. The GOP don’t care about debt. And the Dems are a given.

I have no idea if I will even bother voting in 2014. Voting is useless.

I would like to take a train back in time. It must be better than today.

Hate to say it but the Republicans need to hire Axlegrease to show them how to toughen up and win. You can’t be a gentleman candidate and win against lying, thugs. Ain’t gonna happen.

I'm leaning towards "No". Why waste the time when the choice is ALWAYS between absolute evil and absolute spineless stupidity?

Anyone still think principle doesn’t matter?

You are absolutely right.

“I felt myself physically react to this news...I am sure my face blanched. I have a sense of doom, like a darkening shadow is bearing down on what is left of the country I love.”

I understand what you feel. I too think we are beginning to be able to feel the evil of the spiritual world circling around us.

I want what you are smoking...went for broke??

The GOP came out the gate bent over, white flag with ‘Plan B’. There were NO discussions/debates/talks in the open, it was all behind closed doors, so the leadership could try to ram-rod it down the Houses’ throat. Nobody else had any thoughts on the matter?? Why not take the talks to the People?? Where’s the 3-day waiting before voting at the least?! The world would not end in those 3 days...

This was capitulation, plain and simple. Stop making excuses and sucking up to the losers who want to enslave you and yours.

We still have a democrat house of representatives

Actually, we have worse. As bad as Pelosi was, she never dared to raise income tax rates, estate taxes, or capital gains tax rates while she was Speaker. Yet with Boehner, he does all three in his first two years.

The republicans went for broke and lost out.

No, they didn't. The Republicans didn't go for anything. They simply rolled over and took it. They voted on a bill they didn't even read that was drafted by Reid, Pelosi, and whoever it is at the White House that does actual work. They passed a bill loaded with pork barrel spending that actually INCREASES the debt. The Republicans folded before the cards were even dealt. And in the next few weeks, you will see them cave on the debt ceiling as well, just like they did 17 months ago.

As an aside, FX had 300 on today and I really think Zer0 did a great job capturing Xerxes. That was Zero, right?

The Republicans didn't go for anything. They simply rolled over and took it.

151 of them held their ground.

The rest took the term "roll call" literally.

Because they voted for this travesty of a bill, that’s how.
