Congratulations Dr. Fernandez on the birth of your US citizen daughter. Glad to see that your dental practice in Mexico provided the funds for your wife to visit the USA.
I had been wondering just that! The father is a dentist in Mexico, the mother is obviously a Mexican citizen by her name (Marisol)... so why is the baby born in the US? If there was a medical reason I’m sure it would have been mentioned in the article. Congress should act and stop this anchor baby business, but I won’t hold my breath waiting for it!

Every New Year for years now, I’ve been noticing the trend of “first baby born in the New Year” in various states or cities. The mother usually has a Hispanic name, is quoted “through an interpeter,” and no father is mentioned. At least there’s a father this time, but a Mexican dentist?
