The Massacre Was Not at the Rod and Gun Club
Right Side News ^ | 29 December 2012 | Charles G. Mills

GLEN COVE, NY - Of course there are no massacres at the Rod and Gun Club. Two-thirds of the worst American massacres of our generation have been at public universities, high schools, and elementary schools. There are both supernatural and natural reasons for this.

The Aztecs and the Carthaginians sacrificed babies. The Romans discarded them. Our contemporaries kill them in the womb. Chesterton said that the killing of babies is a sign of the presence of the devil. Public schools are the most obvious place where American society has completely excluded God. We should not be surprised if this leaves room for the devil.

Furthermore, the people who run our public schools belong to organizations that primarily support candidates for public office who believe that the government should finance the unrestricted killing of unborn babies. It is as if they have put out the welcome mat for the devil on the steps of the public schools.

Public schools are a target for these massacres for a second reason. When I was visiting friends in Newtown, Connecticut, a few years ago, two of us went trap shooting. A madman in Newtown would get nowhere if he tried to shoot people at the local trap range. One simply does not hear of attempted massacres at trap and skeet ranges, rod and gun clubs, rifle and pistol clubs, or National Rifle Association conventions. The reason is obvious.

John Fund, national affairs columnist for National Review Online, writes that no one puts a sign in front of his house saying, "This is a gun-free zone." Yet public schools essentially do precisely this when they let the whole world know that madmen will not meet armed resistance. One is less likely to meet resistance to an armed attack at a public school than at the charitable homes run by the Little Sisters of the Poor.

When two students killed so many at Columbine, the one faculty member with a pistol had been forced by school rules to leave it in a car parked some distance from the school.

Most public schools have what they term a "zero-tolerance policy" on weapons. This often means Draconian punishment for anyone -- faculty, student, parent, or visitor -- who brings a firearm; sword; knife; fingernail file; picture or model of a firearm, tank, or battleship; or scissors on the campus; or who draws such pictures in class. This policy includes one-inch pen knives and key rings with one-inch plastic replicas of weapons. The rules of public schools have created the perfect soft targets.

The advocates of radical limitations on firearm ownership are already flooding the country with false information. During the course of only a few hours, one cable news station described the United States as the most heavily armed country in the world and the fourth most heavily armed country in the world. In both cases, the station ignored Switzerland and Israel.

In Israel less than two generations ago, the percentage of male adult citizens carrying concealed pistols shot up to 15 percent, as did a significant percent of women doing so. Israel is a much safer place today than it was 50 years ago because of this.

In Switzerland, virtually every male citizen is entrusted by the government with a military weapon that he keeps in his home. Switzerland is not known for high rates of violent crime.

We need to rethink the weapons policies in our schools. At least half a dozen teachers in each school should be allowed to carry concealed pistols and to shoot to kill if a madman is killing children. The public should be informed that, if necessary, the high school rifle team will fight back.

Society has a duty to protect the lives of its six- and seven-year-olds; this duty does not mean that we should stand by as they are slaughtered while we wait for the police.

In addition to allowing firearms to be carried by adults in schools, airline passengers should be able to carry their firearms onto planes. If that had been the policy on 9/11, the Twin Towers would still be standing.

Firearms for all at 20Kft? Are you nuts?

Just think, 3 or 4 different weapons being discharged on an aircraft from different locations...everyone would end up dying as the plane crashed to the earth, and a couple voices saying...’damn, I probably shouldn’t have done that...or, I wish you guys hadn’t done that’

....And it took missionaries to bring the Christian faith to those who believed it was okay to kill the young.

There is something else that just developed that is very troubling to me. There is a story at http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/01/01/company-targeting-police-bounty-hunters-with-safer-ammo/?test=latestnews

that describes a new, non-lethal ammunition now being marketed exclusively to police and bounty hunters. I would not be surprised to see our tyrannical government pull a bait and switch that would limit the possession of lethal ammunition to law enforcement and limit the citizenry to possessing this new non-lethal ammo.

Matt Drudge: ’3,500 will be killed by abortion today; no media hyperventilating, no presidents crying’ http://twitchy.com/2013/01/02/matt-drudge-3500-will-be-killed-by-abortion-today-no-media-hyperventilating-no-presidents-crying/
There will be over 3,500 killed in USA today from abortion. No flags lowered, no presidents crying. No media hyperventilating. Normal day. — MATT DRUDGE (@DRUDGE) January 02, 2013
In a rare tweet from his personal Twitter account, Matt Drudge makes a sobering and heartbreaking point. Where are the tears and the breathless media cries over the 3,500 unborn who will be killed by abortion today?
Apparently the Oppressive-left only cares about children dying when they can use it as a “Serious Crisis” to deprive the innocent of their right and means of self-defense.

>> ... weapons being discharged on an aircraft ...

As a retired airline captain, I can tell you that this could have happened many times over on my flights. We often carried multiple armed federal agents, police and sheriffs (especially out the DC airports). I suspect most of them were poorly trained, and minimally qualified. “When did you last qual?” often brought on head scratching. “How many rounds have you shot in the last month?” was often taken as an insult, especially by women officers.

My advise to them was “if you have to shoot, try to do it out the side of the aircraft, not up or down. If you have to do it aiming fore and aft, make sure there’s plenty of, ah, er - impact absorbing material - beyond your intended target”.

My favorite armed flights were out of Sacramento. On Monday mornings, the state guys were “on deliveries”; taking extradited evildoers to their fates back east. Sharp guys; G0d bless ‘em all for the crap they have to put up with in their home state.

Unlike what you may have seen in sci fi movies, when you puncture the aluminum skin of an aircraft at altitude with a bullet it does not create a huge rip in the fuselage through which everybody in the vicinity is sucked out. It creates a neat little hole that you could patch with a wad of bubble gum - if the whistling noise is really bothering you that much.

That would work, as long as they weren’t automatics.

yes, and seats are bullet proof, so they are a good thing to hind behind. I’ll defer the desirability of the possibility of numerous holes in the aircraft to experts like the pilot in #6

Seriously, are you referencing cabin pressure loss?

Physics (fluid dynamics) ain’t your best subject, is it?

No, but I do know about severing hydraulic lines, circuit boards, O2 sources and wiring.

Did you get your thought on this from the Alien movie where the creature is vacuumed out a tiny hole, bones and all? Yeah that could happen. The very idea keeps the astronauts in the space station up all night.

While we talk about armed security at schools, why don’t we include school bus drivers? That’s a logical place for these kooks/terrorists to attack next! Who can forget the kidnapping of school children on their bus in CA years ago?

Like in Dirty Harry.

Have you seen the average school bus driver? I doubt many of them want to or should be armed.

It really doesn't matter if it's three people firing once or one person firing three times. A stray bullet puncturing the skin of the pressurized cabin does not cause "explosive decompression". Same goes for windows, just a slow leak through a tiny hole. If by some bad luck a wild round takes out the pilot there is still a copilot to land the plane. Aircraft (and their crews) depend on redundancy to enhance safety. Systems have backup systems, and sometimes the backups have backups.

If it were general knowledge that some if not all passengers were armed, potential hijackers would find some other way to make their point, like pull a bunch of spikes on an Amtrak line?

Regards,
GtG

PS Even crazy people don't shoot up a gun store.

I’m more concerned with a round puncturing a vital cable way, hydraulic line, cca or something like that.

crazy suicidal people try to shoot up gun stores/ranges.

They've been building them with redundancies for a long time.
