President Barack Obama urged House Republicans to pass the $60.4 billion measure on Wednesday before the current Congress ends at noon on Thursday and pending legislation expires. …

Failure to vote on the Sandy measure was widely condemned by lawmakers from affected states. Republican Representative Peter King of New York told CNN it was a “knife in the back.”

However, Michael Steel, a spokesman for Boehner, said in an email that “The Speaker is committed to getting this bill passed this month.” …

How about having an actual conservative become Speaker, instead?

Sure. Why not? It’s,not like the taxpayers don’t have $64 billion to throw around.

Just amend it to pay for it by cutting off the travel budgets for DC politicos.

peter admitted the Congress is only commited by other laws to vote out $27 billion or thereabouts.

Actually, this would be a good time to call shoreline development to a big screeching halt.

Just don't rebuild the infrastructure ~ people who want to live on the shore should learn how to provide for their own stuff ~ just like they did in the good old days.

Funny. Didn’t King just vote aye on the bill to raise taxes? Talk about a “knife in the back.” How does it feel, Petey?

While blasting politicians for loading the Sandy bill proposal with pork, please remember to triple blast the MSM for not reporting that the bill is loaded with pork and that conservatives standing against the bill are doing so for this reason.

The progressive media is a bigger problem than progressive politicians. Until the former is toppled, we will have the latter.

I think a convincing case can be made that progressive media fights against freedom of the press.

$60.4 BILLION? From where? That equals the "Fiscal Cliff" cuts to defense.

Maybe start with the basics to help people bridge the crisis in a direct and effective way. Then put a plan together that makes sense.

$60.4 BILLION. Another porker opportunity.

“Among expenditures criticized were $150 million to rebuild fisheries, including those in the Gulf Coast and Alaska, and $2 million to repair roof damage that pre-dates the storm on Smithsonian Institution buildings in Washington.”

ALASKA!!!!!!!!!

I lost power for a week because of Sandy and didn’t get a thing. I would never pass this POS unless it were a completely clean bill aimed at helping the truly needy.
